I have been a Spark member since the beginning of this year and have really learned a lot. I am more careful about what I eat and I have become a lot more active. I still have a ways to go, but with the help of all my new friends and the Spark trackers, I know I can do this. I was never overweight, but I was never the skinny girl in school. I was typically a size 7/8 back in the day. I didn't even get very big when I was pregnant and dropped the weight quite quickly afterward. I started to gain my weight when we moved to North Carolina. The hubby and I were both quite unhappy being so far away from family and friends. I continued to gain until I was at my heaviest of 204. I was then a size 14 comfortably. I started a weight loss program and got down to 150 and a size 8 again. That was three years ago. I have managed to keep off most of that weight, but I did gain 30 back. I've been about to lose 10 pounds of that and I am staying steady in the low 170s. I have gotten down to 165 and then it creeps back up. When I focus, I'm better able to work off the weight and I feel so much better. The stress of my job and my husband's travels have left me a bit unfocused lately. I am rededicating myself and will be working off the 20 pounds I need to lose!

My Goals:
Get into the habit of eating 5 or more fruits and veggies per day. Train for a 5K. Stay within my calorie, carb, fat, and sodium limits daily.
My Program:
I try to get some sort of cardio workout done first thing in the morning and then get my walking in at some point during the day. I have also been tracking my food intake.
Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Indiana, but found Michigan to be the place to spend my adult life. I teach high school for an alternative program.
Other Information:
I need to stop making excuses and take charge of my life and my health again. I want to run in a 5K so I will be training to do so. Billy Blanks: I think the secret to staying motivated in a workout is to know that fitness is more than just sweating. It's a tool that teaches mental discipline on how to bring your body under control and it's fun to know you have the power to challenge your own body and to bring to light things that you never thought you could do with your body.
