I'm Angie and I joined SP about 1 year ago and for 6 months straight I was doing really well. I lost 40 pounds in that time and more importantly reestablished healthy habits that I'd let go of long before. Then, in the middle of my strong, steady progress I got hit with the biggest challenge of my life to date- two of my four kids have a rare, incurable disease- and suddenly my world, my goals, and my plans for the future just fell apart before my eyes. Everything seemed insignificant in comparison to my kids and so I just focused on their care for 7 months straight. I don't regret doing that but I am thankful that somehow, I went through the motions of doctor visits, hospital stays and treatments at least without undoing all that I'd accomplished- I think that's an accomplishment in itself! :)

Point is, I found out how strong I am and how much I really can handle and this year I am picking up where I left off and I'm going to reach my goal...and I'm gonna look good doing it. :)-

August 2009: Well, remember the part up above that said I faced my "biggest challenge of my life to date" ?? Well, that wasn't it; there's something bigger- my son died June 24, 2009, one month shy of his 5th birthday. Needless to say I am STILL trying to cope and accept. I'm headed in the wrong direction with my weight and eating habits and I most certainly blame that on what happened with my son. But at least I am aware of it! I will try to change things around and reach my goals before I dig a deeper hole for myself that I won't be able to get out of...here I go again!
