My Journey to Health and Fitness

My name is Angie and I have been a part of Spark since January 24, 2006. I have learned so much from everyone here, but most importantly I learned not to give up on myself. I have lost 17 pounds and I have over 100 to lose. It is a slow process, but I am making permanent lifestyle changes.

My Goals:
The main goal is to take things one day at a time or even one hour at a time if that is what it takes. I have been away for a long time and I have gained everything back that I lost before. I just want to learn to make better healther choices for myself, things that I can live with for the rest of my life. I am tired of beating myself up for failing. From here on out there is no failure, just learning from the choices that I make. I am going to be kinder to myself and become the person I have always wanted to be. No more hiding behind the fat and excuses.

My Program:
My program to begin with is to work on small goals and slowly build on them to become a healthier person. I am going to have weekly goals, as well as monthly goals in all aspects of a healthier life, nutrition, exercise, emotionally and spiritually. The most important part of this program is that there is NO FAILURE. I am done with that kind of attitude. It's all about treating myself better, no matter how much I way or anything else. Its about living with and accepting myself.

Personal Information:
My name is Angie and I am from Ohio. I have been married for 14 years and have two children, a daughter who is 13 and a son who is 8. I also have a Jack Russell terrier, Bailey, who is 2.

Angie, Hope your doing well with your weight loss. On May 1st of this year I ended up having Lap Band surgery done. My weight, Health and life was spiraling way out of control and the health issues were too much for me to deal with alone. Before surgery I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, Diabetes, High BP, Cholestoral and so much more. I have lost 52 lbs to date and am feeling better. Wish I could have done it on my own but with the band it's still a chose of good or bad and amounts! Hope to hear from you soon,

Your Old Friend,
Michell

Great Job! That is Awesome weight loss. Just keep up the good work, you will get to your goal and then it's just they maintance from there. What made you elect the surgery? My Sister and Brother in law had it and both are doing good, However my brother in law forgets that he shouldn't be drinking and does so way more often than he should but that is his problem not mine. I had a Hysterectomy and so right now I am still healing and my world is turned up side down! Depression has gotten the better of me and my Doctor just isn't being nice about anything. So I am turning my head and going another direction hoping that another road may help me find what I need to get healther with my Fibromyalgia and with going through instant Menopause! Glad to hear from you, Hope to hear more soon!
