Energetic & Fit Lady!

2014 Update:

Loving 2014! Working on losing the last ten pounds of baby weight, and working on having healthier relationships. These means also finding a different job.

2012 Update:

Thank you for stopping by my page! 2012 started off with a huge change. I found out basically on New Years Day that I am pregnant with my first baby! My husband and I are overjoyed.

2012 will begin with my pregnancy and end with me being a new Mom. As well as the beginning of my pre-pregnancy weight loss plan...which I am not going to think about until the baby is born!

2011 Accomplishments:

- met goal weight
- got Married!!!!
- Ran 10km race in 40 minutes!!!
- was extremely consistant with my eating and exercise plan

Major accomplishments for 2010:

- no more hormone medication!
- lost 42lbs
- created a new personal best in my 10km race
- ran my first half marathon in 1 hour and 56 minutes!!! woo hoo

Here's where I have come from:
I was overweight as a child but discovered my love for fitness (namely Tae Bo and strength training) in high school and lost 40lbs!!

I vowed that I would never allow myself gain weight again. And had maintained my weight loss for nearly 7 years. Well, imagine my surprise when despite not changing a thing with my eating habits and working out 6 days a week I began to gain a lot of weight in only 2 months....30 pounds to be exact. After a year my hormones being out of whack and the main reason for the weight gain, I hadn't lost a pound and was sick of the doctors putting me on different medications.

I decided to go off everything and lose the weight by simply eating healthy and working out. Woudn't you know it? it's worked!!

Tips for Success

1) Carry a water bottle with you everywhere.

2) Tell someone your workout plans. You feel more accountable to actually follow through with them.

3) Make a calender with this workout plan and check off each completed workout. Nothing feels better than being able to place that check mark beside a completed workout.

4) Vent...but don't give up. Weight loss isn't easy..if it was everyone would be thin.

5) Eat your veggies first at every meal. That way you fill up on the good stuff and not the bad stuff.

6) Always, always have gum in your purse. When out at social gatherings pop a piece in your mouth to keep you from eating any junk food.

Goals for 2010

1) Lose 10lbs -COMPLETED!!!!!!!
2) Reach goal weight and finally buy that bikini from Victoria Secret
3) Run 10km race in fall
4) Reach 18, 000 workout minutes (1500mins/month and 375 mins/week)
5) Enjoy life and have fun!
6) Run a half marathon!

Thanks for sharing your story. I just wish more women, even if they were not at their "ideal" body type would not bash themselves or postpone things they like to do because they think "it'll be easier once the weight is gone." As you stated, that's not true. If you have stuff you have to work on internally, losing weight is not going to be the magic answer. We should accept ourselves no matter what. It doesn't mean we don't want to make changes. Changes to be healthier are great. But I see so many women who just HATE themselves and their bodies and who refuse to take part in life because they hate themselves, and it's just very toxic.

Ohhh my goodness, I know what you mean!

This pregnancy was wonderful in so many ways, and I was so happy. Unfortunately I had many food aversions and it made it hard to eat healthy.

When I had only gained about 2 lbs, I already saw my chest increase a cup size and my hips spread, whoa (I guess that's why I had such an easy labor)

With this pregnancy, I gained inches in my face, chest, hips, thighs... and it didn't all go away after the baby was born, or even the 6 weeks after.

I started gaining some weight back after 6 weeks because I slowed my metabolism down by only eating about once a day. It felt like all I was doing was getting broken sleep and taking care of my 8 year old and baby.

So now that I am actively counting calories, it is helping so much. I am hoping to start adding in more activity soon; it is difficult when I am so tired, but I am going to push through.

I still love Turbo Fire! I hadn't done the workouts since it first came out and loved them then. I just decided to do a 90 day challenge and was curious to see if I would still love them - I do! Definitely keepers!

I am making a choice to adjust my attitude today, and having a better day. Things around me aren't necessarily better, I am just choosing not to focus on all the negative.
