Hello, I am Rene - actress, entrepreneur, and plus-size model. I'm a size acceptance activist and encourage people to love the skin they are in, but also be healthy. In 2001 I lost 100 pounds and by 2003 I had gained it all back. I had a son born with a birth defect called CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) in 2004 and he passed away in 2005. Since then I have been fluctuating in the 290's and haven't been able to escape.

I've been fluctuating between vegetarian and vegan since 2001 and a couple of years ago I was a raw vegan. I like the vegan lifestyle because it feels good and it's pure. Especially when it's organic. I do the best I can and I am here to use this site as a tool for success.

I'd like to lose about fifty pounds, but I'm not going to be obsessive about getting there. My main goal is to get healthy and feel great! Nice to meet you.

My cheat day was pretty good...I don't think I really over induldged on much, but I did have a biscuit and half a muffin at breakfast, and a milkshake after dinner--It was less than I would have eaten on a normal day before going on the diet!

I've heard of quinoa, when I was trying the p90x diet (too much food for me!) but the didn't have it in my local store, so I gave up on it. Have you found it? How is it?

I have not used kettle bells on a regular basis. Only tried them once. I think they are excellent but with my tendency to enjoy lifting really heavy things and being very flexible (not to mention clumsy!!!) I was worried the entire time that I was going to hurt myself or someone else.

For now I just stick to the dumbells and barbells.
