Ready to get Healthyyy!

Let me start by saying I am only 5' tall. So what is an average weight for most women, is wayy too much for me. Anyways, when I started high school, I was about 110lbs, and over those 4 years I went up to 125lbs. It was no biggie to me, I was still within my healthy weight range. Well, my first year of college, I went up to 135lbs. This was fine because this meant I actually had some curves. That next year, I joined the Air Force, but ended up coming home with a discharge before I was finished ...
That next year, I joined the Air Force, but ended up coming home with a discharge before I was finished with basic training. In the month that I was there, I lost 10lbs, but soon after coming home, I gained that 10lbs back plus another 20lbs.

I was pretty much in denial the past 3 years up until a few months ago. I didn't think I was "that" big. And really, I guess I'm not... but I look huge because I'm so short and because of the way my weight is distributed. I was still having a heard time finding the motivation to lose the weight.

A few weeks ago, my grandfather passed away of a heart attack at only the age of 64. Way too young for him to go, and apparently heart disease runs in our family. That triggered something in me, and finally gave me the motivation I needed to get off my butt. At the same time, I discovered Jillian's 30 Day Shred, which is what I have been doing. I knew that doing a short workout that was still effective would give me the motivation to not give up.

My Goals:
1. Lose 20lbs by my 23rd birthday on April 15th.
2. Lose the spare tire of fat that is sitting around my waist.
3. Tone my legs so I have the desire to wear shorts this summer.
4. Tone my chest and shoulders so my boobs don't feel so huge.
5. Begin running outside once spring comes along.
6. Eat a healthy, high fruit & veggie diet.

My Program:
As of right now, I'm only doing 30 Day Shred. I have a couple other of Jillian's DVDs that I am going to start incorporating in addition to 30DS. Also, once the weather warms up outside, I want to begin running again.

Personal Information:
I'm currently 22 years old and live in Northwestern Ohio. I am a college student, and am getting my Associate's in Human Resources this spring and then next year, I will get my Bachelor's in Accounting. I also work front desk at a local Holiday Inn, but I'm looking for a new job in an office somewhere. I also have the best boyfriend in the world. He's a country boy, and my exact opposite... and he loves me just the way I am.

Heyllo Sexy Team!!

Stacey has added me as a co-leader to help with our New Challenge. It will be a mini Jumpstart Challenge, and it will begin Wednesday, June 1st.

Every Wednesday I will send out a Spark Goodie to each member of our Team who participates. One goodie for every 5 pounds we lose as a TEAM. Meaning, we'll get a goodie no matter what our weigh-in is -- as long as the total pounds lost for the team is 5!! Each pound we lose as individuals will add to the Team's Total. Who knows, maybe some weeks we'll get more than one 5 pound goodie!!

Each week in June will follow a different theme to help Jumpstart our Summer Weight Loss.

T - Tracking - Week 1 (June 1 - 7)
E - Exercise - Week 2 (June 8 - 14)
A - Attitude - Week 3 (June 15 - 21)
M - Motivation - Week 4 (June 22 - 28)

We'll work on Tracking our Food the first week of our Mini Challenge. Spark People has updated the Nutrition Tracker, and it is much more user friendly now! WooHoo!

Our First Weigh-in will be Wednesday, June 1st (or as close to that date as possible for those of us with different weekly weigh-ins.)

Our Final Weigh-in will be Wednesday, June 29th (or Thursday June 30th in case anyone's a day late, lol)

I'm excited to start this New Challenge. I know I do a lot better while participating in a Team Effort!

Thanks Everyone,
~ Sonia ~

glad you hear you are felling better :) keep at it!

finally back to working out again! 30 day shred 4 days/week, spinning 2 days/week, plus additionally strength and cardio 3 days/week. WOW. haha. ALSO, i met with a personal trainer figure out a good strength training program for myself, but she's actually been helping me with all sorts of chronic pain issues i've been dealing with for years. it hasn't been long, but i'm already feeling better :)

also, have you tried using an elliptical? running is so hard on your knees, it might be to your benefit to try it out. i tried it out for the first time this past week. it always looked like such an easy workout... WRONG. my trainer wanted me to increase incline/resistance once every minute for up to 10 minutes and then back off for 10... there was no WAY i was making it that long. AWESOME WORKOUT. and my knee didn't ache afterwards as it sometimes does :D

have a great weekend!
