Invictus by William Ernest Henley (18491903)

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

The Story of Everest

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Always ineffectiveness.

Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur that would never otherwise have occurred.

A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in ones favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamt would come his way.

I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets. Whatever you can do or dream, begin it. Boldness has genius power and magic in it.

--W.H. Murray,

"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind
action leads to another. Good example is followed.
A single act of kindness throws out roots in all
directions, and the roots spring up and make new
trees. The greatest work that kindness does to
others is that it makes them kind themselves."
Amelia Earhart

    Good Morning Andy!

I used to have a Golden Retriever mix and he was the most wonderful "lump" dog! If he wanted hugs, he'd climb up in my lap. Otherwise he was always happy to just lay by my side.

But the Maltese-Bichon is a "froo-froo" dog, they love to prance around saying "look at how pretty I am!" and "you have GOT to love me! I'm so precious!!"

    Actually, they're both smart breeds.

Nopers, just another dawg in the kennel. I've been with the Dawgs ever since my first 5% Challenge - but I've never quite made the full 5%. I just love the team. Diane is crazy but awesome. For support, you cannot beat the dawgs.

I hope you find the team to be a good fit.

    Huggers to you and DW,

When you were on I had Princess (Princey, Wincey) who was a black ME Coon. Sadly she passed full of cancer (it was very aggressive she'd of died in 7 days and it had just been diagnosed. Due to all of her other health issues she was always at the vets.

Now I have Isabelle (AKA Izzy) who's SO FUNNY !!! Likely your familiar with Ceri's cat "Queenie" who it's HILARIOUS to read her blogs !
