I'm really current obsessions are tabletop role-playing games and bellydancing. I also hoop (think hula hooping as a kid, but with a bigger hoop, and more tricks), spin fire poi, sometimes do triathlons and charity endurance cycling events. I'm hoping to get my ACE exercise instructor certifications some day so I can encourage people to get healthier no matter what their size is.

I'm a graduate student working on my masters of arts in Women and Gender Studies, with a concentration in Gender and Health. Once that's done, I'll be working on my Doctorate in Public Health. After that...I might get some sort of degree in dance :-)

My Goals:
Pullups, run the entirety of a 5k,

Going to walk/run a half marathon on 12/13/09.

Complete a full marathon this spring (either Grandma's in MN or Shamrock in VA).

Complete a sprint triathlon running the whole run, and completing an olympic distance tri. Perhaps some day a crazy little thing called an Ironman :-)

    I would love to help motivate you to get back on the wagon! Right now I'm really motivated because I've juuuuust started my plan. What kinds of things are you doing to get yourself on track? I'm currently using the meal plans laid out by SparkPeople. It's really awesome because the meals are suuuper easy to put together (basically just throwing a bunch of stuff into a bowl and then eating it!), and they make a grocery list for you (awesome!). I'm also reading the Beck Diet Solution to try to figure out how to cognitively prepare myself for this lifestyle change (I'm sure as a psyc major, you understand why that's important). Interested in being accountability buddies? Maybe we could update each other once a week on how we did on our plans??

    I love to bike/train for tri or duathlons/and do all things physical as well. I'm always in the "Athena" category...

    My, you wake up early in the morning!

    The good news is Adam might come out and run with us. ^.^ But even if he slacks off on us, we'll make him carry water and gatorade and snacks. Have you seen the info for our run? Apparently there's going to be a mist room -and- masseuse's on site for the runners. :D How awesome is that?
