Getting Back On Track

I am a pilates and yoga instructor/studio owner in Henderon, NV. Working hours straight bouncing around, physically teaching and at least standing upright kept me in (asthetically) good shape until last summer. For years I had been wishing for a large lily tattoo running down the side of my belly and hip. When my husband offered to be my hand holder, I went for. It is beautiful, but during the healing process, which lasted 2 months (3 sessions, 10 hours), I got extremely lazy... even stretching ...

Working hours straight bouncing around, physically teaching and at least standing upright kept me in (asthetically) good shape until last summer. For years I had been wishing for a large lily tattoo running down the side of my belly and hip. When my husband offered to be my hand holder, I went for. It is beautiful, but during the healing process, which lasted 2 months (3 sessions, 10 hours), I got extremely lazy... even stretching hurt! Once cooler weather hit, I kept up this trend of laying on the couch and eating cookies even though I had no good excuse. After months of not noticing what the extra pounds were doing to my body, I took a look in the mirror and realized that I would be embarassed to show off my art (and growing belly!)
When my friend Alane introduced me to SparkPeople, I was hesitant. I though, "But I love food! How can I do a diet?" She promised I could still eat and I promised to try it. I'm still here 2 months later and I'm loving it! I do eat, and even better than before! Cultivating awareness about food (I had no idea that salad dressing was such a bad idea or that salsa and marinara are much tastier and better for you!) has made a huge difference in my calorie intake without much change to flavor! I has no idea that cardio could make me feel so bouncy and happy! I am feeling healthier and stronger than ever and as soon as the weather hits 80 degrees, I'll be lounging by the pool... in a bikini!

Yeah, that's hat I thought too...but for some reason this past week I lost NOTHING! Just hanging in there! I understand plateaus, but I didn't think it would hit me so hard! :( Oh well, I'm not gonna stop working hard, I will reach my goal weight! Thanks for stopping by my page and showing me your support! It means a lot!
