Almost at goal loss , down 40 lbs to120 lbs/size 6 as of Sept 2011. Goal is 115-118 lbs.

Awesome new earrings made by a friend. Here I am down 40 lbs.

At my top weight of 160 plus pounds, most of the weight gain came along with menopause.

I have 14 pics in my gallery

Clean Healthy Eating and Living
I am 5' 3 " and am 52 years old going through menopause. I started on a grain free, soy free and mostly diary-free (I do have homemade Greek yogurt, bleu cheese now and then and organic half and half in my coffee) regimen on November 15, 2010 as a birthday gift to myself and have REACHED GOAL LOSS of 42 pounds as of 10-16-2011. I now weigh around 112 lbs,(a total loss of 48lbs) and am seeing where the weight goes-it seems to have stabilized over the past month, and I am very happy with where ...

I now weigh around 112 lbs,(a total loss of 48lbs) and am seeing where the weight goes-it seems to have stabilized over the past month, and I am very happy with where it's at :). I have come here for group support, as sometimes it can be quite a challenge to eat healthy. I also changed my eating habits in an effort to help by autoimmune system and rid myself of my chronic cough and throat irritation. Even though I was eating healthy, clean, home-cooked food and watching and weighing portions, the weight kept going up since I started menopause in 2007. Eliminating the above foods (I realized that the excess insulin from grains was making me FAT!) is doing the trick, and I am NEVER hungry! I am using Isabel De Los Rios' Diet Solution Program as the basis for my plan. I eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, mostly chicken and fish, (organic or locally grown whenever possible) so I DO get carbohydrates, as I realize that they are essential for brain function, but keeping the carb intake low keeps the weight off for me. As of October 2011, I have added in achromium/vanadium supplement to help with insulin resistance, and it works great. I have no abdominal roll for the first time in my life!

I want to not only lose the fat and keep it off, but I want to build and tone my muscles, especially my thighs and core. I am starting a slow-paced running regimen along with doing SparkPeople exercises on YouTube. !
