Almost at goal loss , down 40 lbs to120 lbs/size 6 as of Sept 2011. Goal is 115-118 lbs.

Awesome new earrings made by a friend. Here I am down 40 lbs.

At my top weight of 160 plus pounds, most of the weight gain came along with menopause.

I have 14 pics in my gallery

Clean Healthy Eating and Living

I am 5' 3 " and am 52 years old going through menopause. I started on a grain free, soy free and mostly diary-free (I do have homemade Greek yogurt, bleu cheese now and then and organic half and half in my coffee) regimen on November 15, 2010 as a birthday gift to myself and have REACHED GOAL LOSS of 42 pounds as of 10-16-2011. I now weigh around 112 lbs,(a total loss of 48lbs) and am seeing where the weight goes-it seems to have stabilized over the past month, and I am very happy with where ...

I now weigh around 112 lbs,(a total loss of 48lbs) and am seeing where the weight goes-it seems to have stabilized over the past month, and I am very happy with where it's at :).

I have come here for group support, as sometimes it can be quite a challenge to eat healthy. I also changed my eating habits in an effort to help by autoimmune system and rid myself of my chronic cough and throat irritation. Even though I was eating healthy, clean, home-cooked food and watching and weighing portions, the weight kept going up since I started menopause in 2007. Eliminating the above foods (I realized that the excess insulin from grains was making me FAT!) is doing the trick, and I am NEVER hungry! I am using Isabel De Los Rios' Diet Solution Program as the basis for my plan. I eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, mostly chicken and fish, (organic or locally grown whenever possible) so I DO get carbohydrates, as I realize that they are essential for brain function, but keeping the carb intake low keeps the weight off for me.

As of October 2011, I have added in achromium/vanadium supplement to help with insulin resistance, and it works great. I have no abdominal roll for the first time in my life!

Julia, I'm sending Ghostly Greetings from my sparkpage to yours!
It is the final October weekend before Halloween night.
BEWARE to avoid the awakened Spirits cemetery tours!
As each year brings haunted houses, ghoulish costumes and screaming delight!

The brewing cauldrons are overflowing with potions galore.
"Hang around for a spell!" the witches always cackled.
Bats flying, spiderwebs spinning and creepy crawlers soon join the horror.
Let's just hope, the rattling skeletal bodies do not become unshackled.

The spooktacular fright night will soon be here.
It's on October 31st, we will witness Trick-Or-Treat!
Be sure to watch for the full moon to appear.
Have a BOO-tiful Halloween evening without smelling anyone's feet!
