Getting ready to go home from the hospital, dad and son run into a bit of difficulty. I can't help but laugh at my son's expression and flying fist. Sorry, kid.

Hi, My name is Amy. This is my page.

Ha Ha

I guess the first way I would describe myself is as a Christian who believes the Bible is God's Word and is Truth. My relationship with Him should govern the very essence of my life. Does it always? No, but He helps me.

I'm 35 years old and have been married to a wonderful man, Glenn, for 10 years. He is in the Navy, so we have moved quite a bit, but for the most part, I've enjoyed it. I honestly consider our 10th anniversary the greatest "accomplishment" of my life. I have bipolar, so we've had our ups and downs, but it's worth it. He's a great man.

We have a 2 year old little boy, Joshua, who keeps me very busy. Very, very busy. I wanted to be a stay at home mom, and God has blessed me with the ability to make that dream possible. I have the most noble and most important job in the world---taking care of our son full-time.

I studied law, never wanting to practice, just go to work for the State Department or something, but honestly, that was a way to have a respectable cover for traveling. People would ask, "So what do you want to do when you grow up?," and I'd say, "Travel," but that didn't quite cut it, so I came up with "International Relations." Little did I know I would be living in so many different places as a Navy wife; God used a different route to make that dream come true. He has undoubtedly blessed me in every way.

I started SP at 288, but I remember one day the scale said 300! Probably after Christmas. I joined the YMCA around the beginning of February, probably only for the 2 hours/day of childcare included in the family membership. I was working out about 3 times a week, but I wasn't watching what I ate. I had tried SO many diets. I just didn't have it in me to try again. Then on May 22, 2007, my son was watching Sesame Street and I overheard a segment about 2 kids who decided to have a snack before they went to play. One had a banana; the other had cake. The one who had the banana was playing away, but the one who ate cake was soon tired and sitting down...that THAT WAS ME!!! I was so tired almost ALL the time. I started digging around for info on weight loss on the internet and ordered some trial issues of Health magazine. They mentioned SparkPeople and TA DA here I am.
