Reality Check 08-12-15
I've let myself creep back up to near my starting weight. :-( My starting Sparkpeople cohort is now an inactive group, and I haven't logged into SP for probably 1 1/2-2 years. I know Sparkpeople (the process AND the people) worked to help me get down to a healthy weight and lifestyle. I need to commit to this again, measure/weigh more than my breakfast, make exercise a regular activity again, and get back to "fighting weight."

01-2013 - OK. So 8-10 of the 25 I lost found me again. I stopped Sparking, and now I'm not where I was or want to be...again. A Biggest Loser Challenge at work will hopefully help me get back on track again. I know what I need to do; I've done it before. Now it's time to make it permanent.

3rd Title and Intro - 7/2009
I've Gotten Up, I've Been Going, and I've Gotta Keep Going
Yea! I've reached my goal weight, but the journey continues. Now I need to change my plan and my program to KEEP the weight off, and there's still plenty of toning to do (read "saggy belly skin"). SP and all my spark friends have helped me get this far, so I'm not going anywhere. I know I'll need help to keep on keeping on, and I sure want to be around to cheer my fellow Sparkers on to their goals. I'm also going to turn my attention to getting my house in shape now that I am. Between SP and FlyLady, I'm hopeful I can get a handle on this, too.

2nd Title and Intro (5-27-09): I've Gotten Up and I'm Going
I think with the light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter (I only have 5 pounds until my goal weight), I think it's fair to say I've gotten up and I'm going. Now I'm going to have to start thinking about how I'm going to keep getting up and going when the excitement of seeing the scale and tape measure numbers decrease ends.

Original Title and Intro (1-29-09): Get Up and Get Going

OK, it's time to get off my duff and like what I see in the mirror again.

My Goals:
Current Goals:
Move to maintenance by continuing to track calories and exercise until I'm comfortable with my new calorie range.

Keep working to firm up the saggy belly skin and continue to tone the rest of my body, too.

Spend less time on personal fitness and more time putting my house on the Spark program...ala Flylady.

2nd Round Goals:
Lose 13 pounds by June 1. DONE! 14 pounds for a total of 26 on July 15
Lose another clothing size by June 1. DONE! May 12 AND a 2nd size July 8 (size 6!)
Lose 2-4" off my waist. DONE! 2 1/2" for a total of 5 1/2" on July 2
Lose 1" off my neck (I think it really makes a difference.) Stayed steady at 3/4" for a total of 1 1/2", so I'm done.
Lose 1-2" off my hips. DONE! 2" for a total of 4" on July 2
Lose 1-2" off my thighs. DONE! 2" for a total of 3" on July 9
Keep exchanging flab for firm.

My Program:
I'm working on the details of my new program for combining maintenance with Sparking my house.

SUGGESTIONS VERY WELCOME!

LOL, thanks for the goodie! I'm sure I'd feel really ill if I did eat all of that. :) I did have some cheese today. We'll see how it goes!

How is your loser contest going? I hope all is well! xoxo

The knee supports that I have are just the ones you can get from Walmart or similar stores. It's an elastic tube with a hole over the kneecap. It provides stability, warmth and compression. If I remember correctly these things cost about 7 or 8 dollars. Now I have read a lot about the pros and cons of various kinds of knee supports and I know that the experts generally say it is best to build strength in the muscles and supporting ligaments and I believe that but I just know that these things feel good and I used to wear them all the time but had gotten so I only use them for long runs and for times when I expect slippery conditions or when doing hill work....but...after my last race which was a 15k in slushy and very cold conditions, I have been having some discomfort which is probably more related to a need for more stretching than anything else. I've gone back to wearing the supports with all my cardio and it feels good so I'm doing it! LOL
