I had a therapist who always used to say "You're not ready until the very minute that you're ready. If you're not ready, you're just not. As much as you may want to be ready, it won't happen until you actually ARE ready." I've found this to be true over & over & over again. I've quoted it so many times that people attribute the thought to me now...

I've been up & down the scale for the past 30 years. I've been much heavier than I'd like for over 10 years this time. I knew it had to change, but motivation completely escaped me. I wasn't ready.

On August 26, 2009, I went for a physical, knowing that I really needed to make a change. Fortunately, all my tests came back totally normal. I'm very healthy, but I wasn't very happy. I'd put on 42 lbs over the past 2 years and I was not going to stay healthy if I continued on this path.

On August 26th, I was finally ready! The light switched on. I turned the corner. Whatever analogy works, I was ready! I am so grateful to SparkPeople for being such a fantastic tool! (And being free, one I could afford!)

I have begun Michelle's marvelous makeover! And I am SO excited to experience how great I'm feeling already!

Fitness Minutes: 25,436

My Goals:
• I want to like how I look in my jeans!

• I want to feel flexible & strong!

• I want to have great physical energy to match my great spiritual energy!

• I want to lose over 100lbs, and keep it off!


My Program:
• I'm walking my dog every day (hopefully 2x/day).

• I'm doing at least one other cardio exercise each day.

• I'm swimming and ice skating again, trying to go from once a week of each to 2x/week.

• I'm practicing yoga once or twice a week.

• I'm tracking every exercise and all of my food DAILY on SparkPeople.



Personal Information:
I live near Nashville, TN with my dog & cat. I own my own personal assistant service. I have amazing friends and a big, wonderful family.



I live a very blessed life! I can't wait til I believe in myself as much as my friends, family, clients & animals do!

    Super happy to see your post on my page!! I'm in the same boat! Totally struggling! I have fallen off the wagon or maybe just had a head on crash! I am trying to get my head in the process because I'm feeling icky! I'm in TN for the long weekend and heading back to OH tomorrow. I have a standing date with my treadmill this week!     I am trying to make myself track everything again -- i fell away from it and put the lbs back on. So... even when it is garbage, in it goes.
    first thing this am, a coke :( it was almost automatic...
    i go for a while with not even having them in the house then boom i am drinking them daily. my major weakness! emoticon
