I am 33 years old, married and have 5 great kids. I am currently at 242 lbs and want very much to get under 200. I have a problem with staying motivated to reach my goals, become discouraged easily and become bored with exercice routines, as well as I always find myself eating/snacking at night before bedtime.

Hi! Just saw your "new here" post and wanted to swing by and welcome you.

First off, you deserve a big emoticon on taking the first steps to a better you.

Everyone is very nice and helpful here on sparkpeople and you wouldn't believe the response you'll get if you post a question on the boards!

We are here to help and motivate as much as we can. It helps to write down your goals too. It's competely up to you, but alot of us start with 10 minutes of moving around a day and then work our way up from there. I personally got my kids involved so we could keep each other accountable and have fun along the way.

Good luck and enjoy the ride!
