I always thought of myself as not having a weight problem until I saw a recent photo and realized that I certainly did.

Since turning 50 I also realize I can no longer ignore it. It's time to take action, hopefully SP and the support of everyone will help me take control of my weight and life.

Avoid the heart disease that runs in my family.
Avoid Arthritis in my lower back and fingers.

Medium Term goals:
To lose something every week..and realize my ideal weight

Stop snacking in front of the TV







My Program:
IMy Program:

Stay in the range of 1000-1200 calories per day.

Work to reduce sodium

Eat primarily lean meats.

fruits and vegetables every day.

Walk outdoors if the weather is good or use the treadmill every other day.





Personal Information:
Live on the East Coast. We moved here for work, but my love is the desert. My dream is to move to the desert Southwest before I am too old to enjoy it.

Other Information:
I teach in a Private Elementary School. I work with students from 2nd grade thru 6th grade.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I do plan on have a Guiness (or 2 or 3) as well as sampling some of the whiskey brewed there. This trip is all about enjoying Ireland and the Irish, not actually about being healthy...(I will deny having ever said that!). I figure this is a once in a lifetime event and I will figure out the damages (in calories) when I get back. I too hope I come away with some fun recipes and you have to know that they will be put into my recipe box on Spark so I can figure out the calorie content!
