Thanks for the add! Good luck with your gluten free lifestyle and the dilemma over further testing. If you need any help please ask! emoticon

ETA: Sorry! Didn't see your comment on my page before I posted this!
The best advice I can really offer is keep it simple. Cut out processed foods for now, and cook at home. We grill a TON, so we still eat mostly grilled meats and veggies. That made it much easier in the beginning.

Read labels, read labels, read labels. Learn what all the "no nos" are (wheat, barley, etc) and avoid them like the plague.

Best resource I have (and still use sometimes) is the message boards at Celiac.com. There are some really good books available too. If you're interested, I'll give you some titles.

Feel free to ask me anything! If you're not comfortable posting it on the boards, or on my page, message me.
It's so much easier to deal with when you have support!

I do think you need the test. It is not fun because you have to be in pain, bloated, and uncomfortable but at the same time you get to know the damage that it has done, how severe your reactions are if it is celiac (which my son has) or a gluten intolerance. All of these are important but the most important is to have them see how much damage is done.

Hey, saw your weigh-in on the Gamer's FIt Challenge, and I have a note for you: if you are planning a Celiac test for the antibodies: you CANNOT be eating gluten-free. They will make you go back on for about 3 months. Best thing you can do if you are aiming for a positive test is to not eat GF until afterwards.

I'm gluten intolerant. I tested negative for Celiac after the three month challenge, but I am SO much happy GF that it doesn't matter to me.

I first thought I had a problem with gluten when I realized that the extreme pain and problems with going to the bathroom always occurred after I ate something full of gluten. I actually went to the doctor and they said that my tests came back as possible for celiac.

I had the intestinal biopsy and I don't actually have celiac, but after being off gluten for awhile (and having the pain and bathroom problems lessen considerably) I have stayed off of it. I say, give it a try, but gluten is sneaky. So you have to make sure that you are really good at reading ingredient labels and knowing all of it's psedonyms so you can be sure to be rid of it and be pain- and bloat-free!
