Stay-at-home mom in OH losing 100 pounds

I'm back on SparkPeople again after a 2-3 year break from dieting and am starting the new year on the diet Extreme Transformation by Chris Powell, modified to raise the fiber counts to 35 g a day and to lower the fat gram counts for each day.

I am starting walking at 12 minutes a walk, twice a day, and intend to add 1 minute a day to each walk for 80 days as my first challenge.

My challenges are that I adore chocolate and like to avoid walking. I am under medical care for a blood clot and schizo-affective disorder and am hoping a diet makeover and losing weight will prevent further loss of good health.

My Goals:
Here are my SparkPeople goals:
1. Track my diet, fitness and water daily and run my daily nutrition report
2. Get 100 Spark Points daily.
3. Make a few new SparkPeople friends
4. Learn from articles and other's progress by reading their blog posts.
5. Write a book on diet and fitness changes and publish it on amazon Kindle
6. Get over my reluctance to walk and go for 2 Thermic walks of 12-40 minutes each to reach a total of 80 minutes a day walking
7. Use carb cycling and a weekly reward day to keep my metabolism high while losing fat
8. Diet 3 weeks at a time and lose 5 pounds on each rotation, followed by one week off my diet to maintain my current 5 pound loss, dividing my 2 year journey into 20 4 week cycles or 20 steps to success, currently on step 1
9. Read about nutrition and proper diet from diet and health experts, and make this the focus of my new reading program
10. Don't watch any more TV or screen time daily than I spend in exercise

My Program:
To do this I am eating 1500-1900 calories a day, depending on whether I had a social reason to eat high fat foods again. I am following the book Extreme Transformation by Chris Powell and using carb cycling. I am starting to walk 12-40 minutes at a time for 24-80 minutes of walking a day as my aerobic program and have set a goal to become aerobically physically fit a la Cooper.

My other program is writing a book about losing weight which I will publish on Amazon Kindle and blogging my daily journey on SparkPeople. I will write nonfiction and blog daily as new habits on the computer.

I have stopped watching most TV, as recommended on the Mayo Clinic diet plan. I am also reducing and stopping drinking diet soda, as it contributes to a sweet tooth. I am also stopping eating chocolate and cookies, having only one treat of 60 calories a day in my program.

I am increasing consumption of tap water, fruits, vegetables and high fiber cereal, crackers and bread. I set

Personal Information:
I'm from Canada and am staying in the US on a Green Card status and hope to become a citizen in the next three years.

I have a husband and son who I hope will support me, plus an adorable cat which is a mix of Tortoise-Shell and Tabby which is very beautiful and soft.

Other Information:
I'm interested in computer programming and also in writing and am writing a book about weight loss which I will publish on Kindle.

I use SparkPeople to research for my book and writing as well as for diet tracking and encouragement.

I log onto SparkPeople daily now and am going up in points rapidly.
