Starting my Journey

I have been overweight for most of my life and I really hope to change that for my future years. I am a Freshman in college and I would really love to lose weight so I can live with a healthier lifestyle and be able to really enjoy life.

I have a really good feeling about this year and as of now, I strongly believe that I can do this and lose the weight that I have struggled with for so long. I am totally ready to start this journey and I'd love some help from anyone going through ...

I'm 20 and also working towards my weight goals! I've been on spark people off and on for about three years now..and I have to say, it has been the most effective way of losing weight and gaining confidence. No other plan has worked as well...sparkpeople gives u he resources for planning, information, support, and everything else u need to reach your goals. If i can impress upon you just one thing, it is this: just when u feel like giving up, push harder..No one can do this but you..and you are the one at the end of the day that will either be proud or dissappointed....so just know that everytime u take that extra step, no matter now painful or difficult...you are proving your worh to yourself, and even better...ou encourage those around u as well. best of luck!! Make big things happen!!!

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
