Hi, I'm Amanda, 33 years old, and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired! It's time for a change. I've been on the rollercoaster of diets and exercise for the past 20 years, and I'm ready to make some permanent changes in my thinking, eating, and exercising.
My ultimate goal is to lose 100 lbs, however I am using 10 lb increments as my short term markers. I hope to gain more energy and stamina by increasing my activity level. I also hope to reduce my risk of many obesity related health issues.
I am using a diet/activity journal to track my daily calorie use and exercise completed. I am following a 1200-1500 calorie/day eating plan, and I am using Sparkpeople, along with Body for Life in order to regain my health, and my sanity.
I am 33 years old, have lived in New Mexico for most of my life, but am an ocean girl at heart. I am a registered nurse in a neuroscience/neurosurgery ICU at a level 1 trauma center. I have one daughter, 16 years old, and I have been with my husband for 17 years (We are high school sweethearts).
I love to laugh, and make others laugh. I am looking forward to chatting with everyone and getting/giving motivation.
The only one that can stop me is me, and I can take her!

I saw your post in the Albuquerque Team thingy about Defined Fitness and wanting a workout buddy, so I thought I'd drop by and offer to be your fitness buddy.
I have just, as in today is the first day, started to go to Defined Fitness. I am trying to be there around 530a so that I can get my workout in before my day begins. I go to the Riverside one, it takes me 20mins to get to but it's the closest one to me.
If that doesn't work for you, I'd still be willing to be a workout buddy if you would like. Let me know. OH! by the way, my name's Megan.

There's a thread on the team page called POPULAR QUESTIONS where a LOT of questions have been posed and answered. Take the time to read through it as questions you have may have been answered on there - and you may find some questions you DIDN't know you had! Use this board for Q&A only as it is something of a chore to wade through if you're looking for a specific item. (And for me to have to find the most recent question to answer! Participation can be a GREAT motivator! I encourage you to read the threads, post replies, start your own topic! Come by and Introduce yourself to everyone – this is a GREAT team of CARING people! Use the nutrition and fitness trackers so you can see your progress and your blog so you can review, later, how you felt on your journey. It will also help others to see your success!
