Running all the way to my goal!
I started this journey back in March of 2008 when I visited my Dr. for a 6 week post-pardum checkup. I decided whatever I weighed at that time would be my starting weight. I was 262lbs. The next Dr.s visit I had was 2 months later for my annual and I had lost 7lbs just breast feeding. My cholesterol levels were dangerous and it scared me. Breastfeeding my new baby was my ticket out of taking medication and I promised my Dr. I would fix my cholesterol by changing my diet and ...
I started this journey back in March of 2008 when I visited my Dr. for a 6 week post-pardum checkup. I decided whatever I weighed at that time would be my starting weight. I was 262lbs. The next Dr.s visit I had was 2 months later for my annual and I had lost 7lbs just breast feeding. My cholesterol levels were dangerous and it scared me. Breastfeeding my new baby was my ticket out of taking medication and I promised my Dr. I would fix my cholesterol by changing my diet and getting regular exercise. In 2009 when I had my annual checkup in March I had made the change. 40lbs lighter and now running to stay fit my total cholesterol was great. I met all my goals in 2009 and was hoping to finish my weight loss in 2010, but I chose to run endurance events during the summer which hindered my weight loss. I lost 16lbs in 2010 and I have 35 to go to make my goal. I will do it this year with the help of Jesus and his unfailing love and guidance. My goals are to honor God through my running and to go as far as I can to reach as many people to let them know about the gift he has given us. I'm so glad I am able to use my body for his service, rather than doing nothing when I was 262lbs. I write more personally about my weight loss with a blog titled " Fat Wuz Here". Personal Information:
I live in Contra Costa county in California and would love to meet more Christian minded runners. I also run barefoot.
