Law Student extraordinaire - but how do you develop balance and a healthy lifestyle when your focus is on your grades? Apparently with great difficulty! Law school has been tough on my body, but with one year left and a solid career ahead, I'm spending this summer and the coming school year to refocus.

My Goals:
Summer Goal: Get back on the Spark track! Journal my nutrition and exercise daily. Weight Goal: 195 by end of May Fitness Goal: Get to a trainer by the end of May
My Program:
Nutrition: I try to be mindful of what, when and how much I eat. This means being aware of how many calories something is (for example, I had no idea that a Medium Frappucino from Starbucks has as many calories as a Small Banana Split Blizzard from Dairy Queen - over 400!!!). It also means thinking before I eat - am I hungry? why am I eating this? do I need a second helping? It also means allowing myself to splurge on the treats I like once in a while. Fitness: Workout at least 3 times a week at the gym. Two of those days include about 30-45 minutes of weights. Each day has a minimum of 30 mins of cardio. I also try to workout once on the weekend. My main goal is to walk as much as possible: to work, to get groceries, to run errands. Spirit: I work daily to remind myself that I deserve to be happy. I am trying to overcome self-doubt and depression with positive self-talk, a positive attitude and mindfulness. Of all the aspects of my program, this one is the hardest!

My Top 10 Reasons to Lose Weight: 1) I want... to be the boss! I will not be a slave to bad habits or reflex! 2) I want... to run! 3) I want... to fit my skinny jeans! And maybe turn them into my fat jeans... 4) I want... to live a long long life - it's going to be a good one, I know it! 5) I want... to be my own inspiration! 6) I want... to be able to wear the clothes I love! (Being a slave to fashion is pretty hard when the fashions don't fit) 7) I want... to see what my husband sees. 8) I want... to love myself as much as I love other important people in my life. 9) I want... to say YES to a bikini! 10) I want... to show the world that I am DYNAMITE!
