June 2010 update;
Well... 3 months ago in a desperate attempt to get my health and life back i cut out wheat, caffiiene and sugar, the effects were evident within a week and every day ever since i have regained a litle more brain clarity and function..... 5 weeks later i stumbled upon rawfoodrehab.ning.com and learnt about the rawfood lifestyle and since then have come across all sorts of websites, books and youtube clips that extol the benefits and healing powers of raw food.

I never would have imagined i could enjoy... absolutely love... eating only raw food. it was the desserts that did it... OMG the raw desserts are spectacularly scrumptious!!! and completely guilt free!

So far after 13 weeks i have lost 12kg (26 lbs) without even tryingor dieting a single day!

Kia Ora..... I'm lucky enough to live by the beautiful Pacific Ocean, Mt. Maunganui, New Zealand.

I put on 19 kilos in 2008 after I became unwell,
once my energy levels came back to normal i began walking just 10 minutes a day in January detrmined to lose the weight.

I lost 17.5 kg by April....and began training earnestly for a half marathon in November ... I then exacerbated an old knee injury ... moved house... ended a relationship... and as a result had a CFS relapse and in the last month (sept/oct 09) have put back on 10 kg!!

I'm still moving forward.....just more slowly... ...walking and painting are still my gateway to a healthy mind and positive outlook.

Every day's a fresh start...

*Walk 10 minutes a day slowly building back to where I was in April
(I'm now managing 30 to 60 mins a day!)

*Eat more live food, (hehe that sounds terrible considering I'm vegetarian!)

*Drink water
*Keep a daily goal log
*Pilates

emoticon emoticon emoticon Kudos to you for joining us here on the Raw Foodies Team. This will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Sparkers come here and join this great team for a multitude of reasons. They may be curious about the health benefits of Raw Food and join to learn all about eating Raw. Many join for the weight loss. Many join the Team for a Detox. There are a great many people who do the Raw Food Diet as a Detox but then they realize how alive they feel and how the pounds melted away so effortlessly they decide to continue to eat this way. There are others who will join this Team for the health benefits of a Raw Food Diet. A diet based on raw food can reverse diabetes, arthritis (I personally have experienced this. I went off all of my arthritis meds after only a few weeks), heart disease, cancer (that is how I became involved with the Raw Food Diet when my sister was diagnosed with Lymphoma), eliminates migraines, the list goes on and on.

Yes I bike, I'm just getting back into it. My baby has just turned 1 and I haven't been on my bike since before I got pregnant so I've dusted off the cobwebs. It needs to go into the shop today for a tune up. Shame it's not so simple for us! emoticon

Hi Aly, yes the NZ's for New Zealand, and as for the scenery, it's just down the rd from the Mount at Ohope. emoticon
