I am the Turtle
A lot has changed since I got serious about getting to a healthy weight. Yes, my weight has changed, but even more important than that- I eat so much healthier, I am teaching my kids & husband how to eat right, I work out regularly and I feel so good about the changes that I’ve made. Too bad that kind of success can’t be measured on a scale or tape measure, huh? I had long ago given up sugars and white breads but I recently starting taking it a little further and am learning to eat “clean”. It ...

Yes, my weight has changed, but even more important than that- I eat so much healthier, I am teaching my kids & husband how to eat right, I work out regularly and I feel so good about the changes that I’ve made. Too bad that kind of success can’t be measured on a scale or tape measure, huh? I had long ago given up sugars and white breads but I recently starting taking it a little further and am learning to eat “clean”. It takes a lot of effort and time but as the old cliché and ad slogan goes, “I’m worth it!” (and so are my kids and husband). When I look back at my weight tracker I am disappointed and relieved at the same time. I can't believe how long it's taken me to lose what I have lost. *sigh* But then again, I haven't gone back to that high weight even once. And in all this time, since I entered “the race”, I have never gained more than 7 pounds before I get a handle on things. So, although I may be the turtle that wishes she was the rabbit, at least I know how the story ends, and I will win… eventually.
