my goals are to finally live free of this outer shell that has been a constant in my life since i was really little. i want my kids to know that being healthy is a good thing and that healthy food is awesome and that it doesn't have to be seen as a "bad" thing. i want my whole family to be happy and healthy so we can all enjoy what life has to offer together.
i have decided to get professional help with losing this weight for good. i struggled for a year to lose 70 lbs by myself because i didn't have much support. it is hard to do this by yourself. so now i go weigh in once a week and see a doctor once a month in a weight management clinic. it keeps me accountable.
my name is shannon and i am from southwest louisiana. i am married with three kids, my son is grown and my daughters are still at home. my youngest daughter struggles with the same weight issues that i do so we are going to make this journey together. i am also a very compassionate person. i try to help other people and animals that are in need of love and support.
i love to read, especially stephen king! i try to spend as much time as i can at the beach and outdoors, in general. i have become quite fond of feeding the birds and the squirrels in our yard, actually i think it is the whole neighborhood by now!...lol....i try to do my best to set a good example for my kids in every aspect of our lives.
Hey! It's been awhile! I just saw your comment on my page from April. I got REALLY depressed due to all those problems with my back.
I do have a "new" love, we got married nine days ago! Lol. We're moving to Montana in a couple weeks! No more desert life for me!
But, I literally cried seeing the wedding pictures. This last round of medication and exercise restrictions really took its toll on me. I weigh the second most I've ever weighed and I'm sure it's going to be a struggle to get it all off, but I'm going to go slow and focus on just hitting my daily goals. I'm focusing more on FEELING like I look good than the scale. Hopefully it works, because right now I feel like crap.
