I was a group fitness instructor who taught 8-10 classes a week: primarily Zumba, Aqua, Boot Camp, and Pilates. my husband is in the military, so we were forced to move to a new area. I gained 40 pounds in 6 months, and went from a size 6 to a size 10 and sometimes 12.

My career of choice was going nowhere, as the only fitness people needed around there were personal trainers and substitutes (one studio only had their regular instructors working every other week!), and I was miserable. Housework, grocery shopping, going to the park, and the occasional dance party in the living room, with my 3 year old daughter, were pretty much all the exercise activities I did. I've always had a hard time keeping active on my own. That's why I always did sports in school, and decided becoming a fitness trainer was the way to go; if it's your job you HAVE to do it.

My husband and I finally decided it was best if I went back to our old town to start getting motivated once more. We want to open our own studio once he gets out of the military and we find a place to settle down. We can't do that if I don't have all the experience and training to start it up. So now I'm going to be working once more, getting my AFAA and adding formats to my repertoire: Yoga, Step, and Kickboxing. I plan to get certified as a Personal Trainer as well.

Finally here!!! YAY!!! I log my gardening time and wear my fitbit all day everyday, so I also track almost every step. Don't forget that housework, yardwork, grocery shopping all count as activity. Best of luck on your healthy weight loss journey!
