We welcomed Ava Marie on October 23, 2010, at 12:01 a.m. by c-section due to breech position. She was 19" and 5lb3oz. I am looking forward to losing the baby weight through healthy eating, exercise (after 6-8 weeks of recovery, unfortunately), and breastfeeding. :)

I'm a Kindergarten teacher in Milwaukee, WI. I got married July 2009 and have been trying to maintain my pre-wedding weight loss of about 40 lbs. I recently found out I am pregnant - due November 2010 - and am going to try to maintain healthy eating and exercise levels throughout this pregnancy.

I completed my first half marathon on May 1st, 2010, at 12 weeks pregnant. I ran the first 4 miles with friends, then began taking walk breaks as needed to keep my heart rate down. Two bathroom breaks, lots of water, a hammer gel, and 2 hours 31 minutes later I crossed the finish line and earned myself a finishers' medal! Woohoo!!

I completed a sprint triathlon June 13 in 1:47. I also lost a friend that day at the triathlon.

My Goals:
Workout regularly - 15 minutes each day, as well as strength training and/or cardio at least 45 minutes 3 times/week.

Stop relying on soda to get my perk in the afternoon. (9/1/09 - I'm still sticking to this, since last October. Now, I am able to have a sip occasionally and not want to down the whole can. I avoid it at all times, though!)

My Program:
I am making healthier food choices, doing Body Pump (weight lifting class) twice a week, and cycling twice a week, and running!

Way to go reaching your prepregnancy weight! I've been running 3 miles pretty easily so now I need to get up there and move up to a 10K route!!! Any suggestions for the step up?

I'm TOTALLY hooked on Pinterest! I started following you and love all of your school stuff. It makes me miss being a teacher! Oh well, I guess I can apply lots of those ideas to working with Arianna! emoticon

I'm sorry that work is so crazy! It would be hard to have two sections instead of just the one because then you have double the students to get to know and adjust for. Have you been able to click with other teachers at the school?

I'd never heard of Pinterest before but this week 3 people have mentioned it to me! It sounds interesting! I like your motivation board! It would be nice to have the reminder of everything all nicely in one place. How did you do with your morning workout? That definitely sounds intense.

I'm also doing a race a month with the goal of getting faster with each one. This first one on Saturday I'm just walking but I'd love to be running (again...I backtracked from my 3 miles that I got to last summer!) the whole thing by the end of the year.
