Alright world here I am. An open book full of blank pages ready to be filled. For so many years I have given of myself to others. My family, my children, my husband, my friends. Somewhere along the way I lost me. Finally I am doing something for me. For my happiness. Growing up I was pretty athletic, although I wasn't really into sports. I was a gymnast, on the local swim team, as well as the marching band. In college I was still pretty much in shape. In the marching band there as well. I quickly learned the difference between being in the band of a predominately white school and a HBCU. LOL But you know what, I lost weight freshman year rather than gaining the "freshman 15". The weight gain didn't happen until after college, getting married and expecting my first child. Boy, did I gain. I was able to lose, but not quickly due to having a c-section. This was not the case with my second and third child. I gained and didn't lose, gained some more and still more. All three c-sections took their toll on me. I guess I just gave up on me. Well, that was then and this is now. The best thing I can do for myself and my children is take care of me. I want to be the person that they need and deserve for me to be. I know there will be ups and downs along the way, but deserve so much more than I have allowed myself to have. I am on a journey. A journey for peace of mind, happiness, and health. Even with the ending of my marriage, I have found a peace and happiness that I have not had in years. Slowly but surely I have getting the health part on track. I know I have a long way to go but I am enjoying the ride along the way. I am becoming the butterfly on the outside that I feel I am on the inside.
To eat more fruits and vegtables.
Drink at least 64oz of water a day.
Do cardio exercises at least 5 days a week.
Reach goal weight of 131lbs by summer. 7/29/2008(my birthday)
1/22/2008- Be able to work out for 1 hour on the elliptical machine.- Accomplished 1/9/2008!
Cardio: treadmill, stationary bike, hiking along local nature trail, elliptical machine
