Battling Alpha 1 and Getting Healthy

I've been on a journey of losing weight for a while. I started over a year ago at nearly 300 pounds. I'm now so close to "onederland" that I can almost smell it! My goal is to not let my genetic condition Alpha 1 keep me from getting down to the skinny girl trapped inside me.

My Goals:
My goal is to unleash my "inner goddess" as one of my friends refers to my weight loss journey. I started at nearly 300 pounds over a year ago and said I wanted to be under 200 by 2014. I think I'm going to reach that goal ahead of schedule!
I'm also going to do my first competative 2 mile fitness walk with my niece in August. She's 10 and wants to get into running eventually, so we're both starting slow! Will work my way to a 5k eventually. I have a genetic condition called Alpha 1 which is basically emphysema without ever having smoked, so the 5K is a lofty goal for me.

My Program:
To date my program has been: Going to therapy, I have found I am an emotional eater, and there has been a lot of trauma in my life so I was always emotional, therefore always eating. Therapy has helped me deal with the trauma, and find healthy ways of combting my stress and letting goal of my emotions.
Phentermine: A prescription from my doctor designed to rev. my metabolism and curb the hunger cravings. Using it only under careful monitoring by my family doc and my Alpha 1 specialist.
Healthy Eating: I don't like feeling deprived so I eat what I like, just a lot less of it. I've also cutted out salty snacks, soda, and baked goods except on special occasions. Adding more and more fruits and veggies.
Exercise: Walk everyday either outside or when the weather isn't good on my treadmill, Wii fit, Wii dance fitness, and yoga.

Other Information:
I am a Christian, and am a member of the United Methodist Church. I'm a busy beaver in the church as I represent my home church every year at the Annual Conferance and volunteer for several activities throughout the year including Lay Speaking where I actully fill in for the pastor at the pulpit!
