I am logging everything I eat everyday. I log licks, tastes, and sometimes smells (to see how bad that will be if I have just a bit because for me just a bite never is). I stay within the calories range 5-6 days a week. Usually at the low end of the range. I am still struggling with a McD addiction.
My saving grace is exercise (amazing since I have avoided it at all cost for 41 years). I am going to the pool 2 or 3 days a week. I do Wii Fit 3 days a week. I do Jillian Michaels 2009 for the Wii 2 or 3 days a week. Overall, my exercise program consists of at least 30 minutes 6 days a week and on weekends 2 hour each day.
I am going to do 30 day SHRED with one of my teams for the next 30 days starting tomorrow. From the preview today, I may struggle with some of the moves but I am committed to do my very best. You are welcome to look at my food and fitness trackers on my SparkPage.
If you want it, because you are worth it. You can be the person YOU want to be. I am doing this for me because: 1) I was kicked off a rollercoaster last year - humiliated. 2) I had to travel for work last year and the seat belt extension process was mortifying in the presence of my coworkers and boss. 3) I want to take my DD to WDW in August and I want to spare myself and her #1 and #2 (he, he at the double entandre).
I find a lot of motivation from my vision collage and participating with the teams I've selected. I have a picture of my collage on my page, you are more than welcome to use anything there that may inspire you. For more ideas, you can search the message boards for vision collage. There are many more people here who have posted pictures of theirs.
I also get motivation from other team members. When I ask a question, I may get dozens of responses and some with links to other sites. It's very empowering when you find out your family has grown exponentially!
Hi and to Spark People! I'm Madeleine, the leader of the SparkBurlington team. I've been a member of Spark for over six months now, and it really is the best tool I've ever found for changing my body and my life. I've lost 25 pounds (45 total) and I know that I'll never go back.
What really made the process so much better for me is the Spark Burlington team! I am so proud to lead this group -- we're a small team, but our members are dedicated, supportive, and tightly-knit to ensure that we ALL succeed on our paths to wellness! And it's not just for Burlington residents -- anyone in Chittenden County is more than welcome! So come on in, and check out the discussion forums and resources we've highlighted.
Good luck on your journey. It's not easy, but it is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
Hope to see you on the team! ~Madeleine, AKA BTVMads
