Me and my boyfriend, Marius
Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
I've been overweight all my life and I'm ready for some changes! I want to ditch my old habits and pick up new and healthier ones.
I currently am spending my days caring for my grandfather so I have a lot of free time to work on myself. I'm living on only $65 a week so dieting is a little hard doing it on a budget but I just look at it as a challenge.
My hardest challenge is staying motivated, as I do get frustrated easily. However, I have support from friends an family to help keep me going.
I know I can do this and I'm going to have fun doing it!
Eating healthier, sleeping better, reducing my stress and anxiety.
I eat the best that I can, I'm cutting down on red meat drastically and mostly eating chicken and fish. I do not drink sodas.
I do cardio every other day and strength train other days except on Saturday. I walk 5 times a week.
I'm currently in Springfield, MO. I was born in TN, but spent most of my time growing up in SC. I miss it there sometimes.
I love art, so I've been trying to think of a hobby that centers around that.
I decided to get healthy because I've gotten a lot of wake up calls about cancer running in my family.. so I'm finally starting to listen. I lost my mom and 3 of my uncles to cancer, and it's not how I want to be taken out. I quit smoking and every month that I go without smoking is another victory for me.
I have a black cat named Solveig, and a brown tabby named Lucy. I love animals, probably more than I love people. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan! I love everything norwegian! I want to move there some day. I'm currently learning how to read, write, and speak in norwegian.

Welcome! If you need a shoulder, a friend or a virtual coffee at some point, drop by and say hello! I've been on sp for just three months and am thrilled with the support and results. Thought I might pass it on... :).

Thanks for you comment and the info. You're right, I'm lucky I don't live somewhere more expensive!
I hope you can quit smoking! I actually broke down and got another pack after going two days without them, and I'm not proud of myself. I'm going to give it another go soon because I know if I keep trying, eventually I will make it without them.
I'll be glad to have you as a friend on here, maybe we can help support each other some how.
Also, thanks for the info on freegans, I had never heard of it before so I am definately going to check that out.

I read your comment about stopping smoking and that you're on your 2nd day cold turkey! Well Kudos to you! You're only 23 and quitting will make such a difference in your life.
I wish I could quit ... in fact I wish I never started. But I have been smoking for decades ... and I have tried at least 10 times to quit and the closest I came was with acupuncture ... it made the cigs taste TERRIBLE. But alas the Oriental doctor took the pin out of my ear too soon! If I had left it in another week I think I would have succeeded.
Please try to stick to quitting ... ALL of my health problems stem from smoking and I know someday it will kill me if I don't stop.
So if you ever need my support please reach out to me ... I promise I'll support you as much as I can.
On another point. I know it must be tough trying to live on $50 a week ... but you're lucky you don't live in NYC where everything is sky-high to buy.
I want to give you a suggestion ... join the freegans in your area.
Not only will you make new friends ... but you'll get free food too!
Check out this article from your local paper:
I am going to request that you be my friend. I hope you will let me be.

Hi! I have a very good friend that lives in Norway, he's taught me alot about the country and I just fell in love with it! It has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, is one of the most successful countries economy wise, and has very low crime rates. I think moving there would be an awesome adventure, but it will be very costly so all in good time I suppose. Also.. I love cold weather! hah
Thanks for the comment and glad to be here! So far I'm really loving this website.. but haven't checked out much of the forums yet.. it's on my to-do list! And yes, learning norwegian is fun but it's actually very hard.. it seems to be one of the hardest languages to learn.
