Welcome to SparkPeople Allison. I am so glad that you found us. There is a lot of information here and the best tools to help you reach your goals.
I have been on SparkPeople since April 2009 and I have lost a total of 30 pounds since I have been watching what I eat. I track my food every day (good and bad) and I track my exercise. You can check out my SparkPage and see my fitness and food tracking. I put it all out there for everyone to see – the good, the bad and the ugly. It helps keep me honest! Are there days when I eat stuff that I know I shouldn’t – of course. This is a life long journey, one with many paths to take. I just have to keep making the right choices and when I don’t, I get back on the right path and don’t look back.
The encouragement and motivation I get from my Spark friends is amazing. They are always there to help me through tough times and bring a smile to my face. I have found that if I post something that is bothering me, within an hour someone will respond back and make sure everything is alright and offer encouragement.
Being new, I would suggest that you use Your Spark Points (click on View SparkPoints) as a map to the site. It is a good way to see what is new and a great tool for any situation.
Hi Allison! Thank you for checking out my Vlog! I was 200 lbs before and when I started to lose the weight I would hit a plateau EVERY 10 LBS!!! It was sooooooooo frustrating. So I totally know how you feel. It took me like 3 years to lose about 30 lbs. I always had to change my food intake and I had to make my workouts harder and then I had to make them longer. Then I got tired of working so hard at it and I took a break and then I did it all over again. That's another reason why it took me 3 years to lose it. So, I don't know how or what you eat but I can try to help you by saying...try to incorporate more fruits and veggies, lots of cardio and cut out juice and soda. Just stick with water for now. I would rather get my calories from food then from drinks! And when you reach your goal then start lifting some weights. And remember, muscle weighs more so if you get on the scale and see that you've gained again, it means that you've put on some muscle! I hope this will help you! I wish you the best!
