I am still plugging along, slowly getting back to eating right and regular exercise. Time to get this body back into shape. I want my life and my body back. I want to be comfortable in my own skin again. Time to remake me!!
This January, at the beginning of the month, I hit my all time high weight of 226.6 pounds. I about got sick right then and there. That is when it finally kicked in that I do not want to end up like my parents. With medical issues and on tons of meds just to get through the day.
I have dropped 10 pounds since that day. This year is going to be a year of change. Slow but steady change. I am recovering financially and making strides to get things back in order on that front. It has been a very long journey. I hoping to be back on my own again this summer, in my own place. I do not know if I will be able to afford a house, but definitely an apartment.
My friends are also on this journey this time. We have all gained weight over the past couple years and are trying to get back to healthy. Clean(er) eating, logging food, and exercise are things we are all working on.
My goals for 2014? I have a lot of them. I have been throwing around a lot of them. I want to lose 50 pounds by the holidays of 2014. I want to run a 5k this year, I want a bib and I want to become addicted to running again. I may not run fast, but I am running faster than the person sitting on the couch!
Financially--I am tired of living paycheck to paycheck. I am working on getting debt free. I am working on my retirement money. I will slowly get that built up also!
Another year has passed, and life has changed once again. The only constant--everything always changes. Dad has passed, and I will be switching jobs on my birthday of July 8th. Figured it was a good time to start this journey once again. I have joined as a Beachbody Coach and am using Shakeology to help with my weight loss this time around. With the support from Spark and the help of my fellow Beachbody coaches I will actually make this healthy lifestyle happen and stick this time.
Well, my life has changed drastically once again. I am back in Indiana now as things on his end didn't work out. We are still friends, but ... yah. I am struggling with things back in the midwest. I found a job fast, but am dealing with a lot of internal, personal struggles with the break up.
I re-joined a gym here, and I am managing to go 2-3 days a week. Right now, that is a good thing. The heat is unbearable, I hurt all over again and have had to double my RA meds since moving back from CA.
I have decreased my goals to lose about 30-40 pounds this year, although I am not quite on that track yet. I will get there eventually though. Changing where you buy foods is a big thing. I am slowly adjusting back, although it has and will be a hard road since I loved the Bay Area so much.
I want to start this year healthier than last year. I lost hardly any weight in 2011, but I also did not gain any. This year I want to at least lose 30 pounds.
I will have insurance in January, and I am planning on getting into a doctor's office and figure out why my hips and back have been bothering me. Time to get myself healthy again!
I haven't lost the weight I wanted to, and a trip back home to Indiana set me back about 15 pounds (can definitely tell how much fast food packs it on). I am currently still trying to lose what I gained when I went home. I am currently on Week 6 of the Spark Running Program. I am feeling good, I have somewhat hit a plateau, which means I need to increase my exercise and work on getting my veggies in daily ( I still struggle with this daily). I have lost inches though, and clothes are finally starting to fit better again. I am determined to shop through my closet this winter! So I am keeping on with Spark, and at least I have not hit my heaviest weight again!
As of April 1st, 2011 I have lost about 25 pounds. I am taking this journey slow and steady. I am not losing nearly as fast as I would like, but I am losing and making changes that are sticking with me.
I have recently moved to California and I am finally ready to start living my life! I am ready to get healthier, BE healthier so I can live a longer fuller life! You only get the one life, it is time I started living it!
Live for today, love for tomorrow, and laugh at all your yesterdays. Never regret the past, always hope for the future, and cherish every moment you have.
Long term: My goal is to lose 80 pounds and keep it off the rest of my life.
I am trying to stay within the calories recommended, eat my fruits and veggies daily, and work on getting consistent with exercise.
I am trying to set smaller goals because I think the main goal of 80 pounds makes me sabotage myself.
I am from Southern Indiana and have lived here my whole life (save 2010-2012 in the San Francisco Bay Area)

I am an avid MMORPG gamer, I love to read sci-fi/fantasy books. My favorite series of books is The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I also like the Twilight Series, Anne Rice, Terry Brooks, House of Night Series, Harry Potter, CL Wilson (Tairen Soul Series), The Nobel Dead Saga. Adding to this list ... The Fallen Series, Vampire Academy books, ( I am heavy into the fantasy--can you tell?)

Now that it's 2013 it's time to get serious about this health thing. I've been tracking my food since the first, granted the first days weren't so good, but today I finally ate healthy and it looks like I'm going to be under 1000 calories for the day. YAY!!! :) And tonight I return to the gym. Yuck! LOL!!! It'll be good for me though. Planning on hitting the gym 3 times a week and working out on the Wii twice a week. I figure if I get lazy and skip the gym one night I still will get in 4 workouts a week. We can do it!!!

yippie! I am so thrilled that you have thrown in your lot with us! I havent had the chance to meet you yet and when reading over your sparkpage I see that you are not new to Spark at all! I have only been on here since the new year and I am already in love with it! :) We have a team dog walk scheduled for the 28th at 2pm at cherokee park! meeting at hogans fountain if you would like to come! please do! we would love to meet you! I see that you are closer to your goal than I am!! I have a big goal that is why I am so thrilled to see you in this with me! I need all the help I can get! How is this week progressing for you?
