I'm Jess. I'm starting over for what feels like the thousandth time.
Some of the things I've picked up along the way have stuck with me which is awesome, like substituting whole grains, healthy oils, cooking methods, etc. Thanks to these changes I haven't added any additional weight, but I haven't lost any either.
This time around I need to focus on calories in vs. calories expended. I've already cut back my soda intake from about 72-96 oz of Mt. Dew or other sodas per day to 12 oz. and now drink primarily water, but sometimes orange juice or skim milk.
I'm horrible about eating throughout the day, I just forget to do it some days which I know is bad for metabolism and binging later in the day, so I'm trying to sub in some Slim Fast or similar drink shakes.
I don't snack often but when I do it's usually chips and salsa or French Onion Dip, I've already started the switch to healthier snacks--- veggie straws and peanuts.
Overall the primary area I need to work on is fitness, I just don't get enough in, so that is my target area. I don't have a gym membership, so I've purchased 2 different size stability balls, a yoga mat, and some kettle balls. I had some one-on-one with a personal trainer so I'll probably work in some of our old fitness routines and add in some Spark fitness suggestions as well. The stroller and walking shoes are already at the ready and have been in use quite a bit.
I've already lost 6 pounds since mid-July 2015 with just the little changes and I'm ready to really get at it, but know I do better when I'm on Sparkpeople.
Being realistic with my goals this time and trying not to micromanage everything!
Setting realistic self image goals, not picking and choosing well known celebrities as my ideal body images. My ideal body images are most definitely the pinup type girls of the 50s and 60s. Thin and fit but still curvy.
Still working on that...
I am married to the most wonderful guy, Mommy to the two most loving (but agitating) boys I know and now a daughter as well!
I am a reading and movie addict and enjoy spending time lounging around (too much). I love taking my kids outdoors to play but hate when it's too hot or too cold and miserable. I loathe most "exercise" activities but need to get off my tuckus!

It's been a while since I popped by your SparkPage so I just thought I'd say hi and catch up! Hope all's well. How are you doing on your Jan-March goals? I like that you have them right out there on your SparkPage. I don't even know where to begin for goal setting these days, the scale has been so baffling. But I just joined a 5% Challenge so hopefully that will help! Wishing you all the best.

yeah, I didn't quite make it up this morning either... but I found a place to take yoga for free every Monday night, so I did get 45 minutes in. I am definitely going to make it part of my routine!
That's absolutely FANTASTIC that you made such healthy choices today with how to use your time!!!!! Keep it up!

Definitely a good idea! I'm probably going to try and aim for 3 mornings as well this week. Slowly build up and move things around... haha, don't want to go and kill ourselves over this! It would defeat the purpose! lol... Congrats on losing 2.5 pounds!!

MUAHAHAHA! I got up twice this week for a work out! So far I've only worked out three days and working out a gain today... so I'd say 50% really isn't bad =P Yes, I'm rationalizing, but I'm pretty excited lol
How'd your week of getting up early been going??? I bed you've been doing awesome all week!
