My name is Alissa, and I am a 33 year old mother of 2. My oldest is 5, and my youngest is 8 months. We also have a 16 year old exchange student from Lebanon who is definitely just another one of my kids.

I have "battled" my weight for most of my adult life, and frankly I'm tired of it. So, I am calling for a cease fire. Not that I am going to stay content in my old ways, but that instead of seeing my body as a battlefield and my health as a struggle, I want to embrace my body ...

Not that I am going to stay content in my old ways, but that instead of seeing my body as a battlefield and my health as a struggle, I want to embrace my body and care for it lovingly. I should be good at TLC by now - I take great care of my kids and the other people around me. But somehow when it comes to taking good care of myself, I always seem to fall apart. So, I am making a committment to change that and embrace a healthier lifestyle so that I can be the happiest, healthiest me that I can be. I'm doing it for my kids, my husband, but most importantly, for myself.

My Goals:
I'm planning on a very slow and steady wins the race kind of approach. I think I would eventually like to try to get into the 130's, but for now I have a goal of getting down to 150, and then I will reassess.

My Program:
1) Portion Control!!!
2) Eating more fruits and veggies
3) Cut back on sweets and junk food (occasional treats still allowed)
4) Water, tea, and decaf coffee only
5) Get some exercise every day
