Alissa's Journey

My name is Alissa. I have been with SparkPeople for a few years now and I find it to be a great resource! I am about 50 pounds overweight, so I have began my journey! I am now trying to prepare my body to have a baby- as I just recently was diagnosed with PCOS.

I enjoy spending time with my niece and nephew, my puppy Black Lab(Jax), kayaking and spending time on the lake with my family.

My Goals:
My overall goal is to be more healthy, but I would like to lose 50 pounds and make exercising and eating healthy a daily part of life.

My Program:
I don't have a particular "program." My issues are that I eat when I am not hungry and I eat lots of fast food! (I work full time at a fast food restaurant). I am trying to get my 8 glasses of water in and do some sort of physical activity.

Personal Information:
I live in NY and go to college for Childhood Education with a minor in Community Health.

Other Information:

Thanks for commenting on my post about not losing weight. Lets help motivate eachother. Was just reading ways to boost metabolism so will try those like drinking oolong tea and drinking ice water before meals, these are Dr Oz tips. emoticon

It's the 21 day sugar detox by Diane sanfillipo. There's a book buying you google it you can find the food lists. There are 3 levels one is the easiest :)

Thanks girly! Im glad ur doing great :) :)
haha was doing great up until lunch or so- im still in my pts and ive done 40 min of exercise. Family stuff, wish i could help sort of thing with things going on and i cant, so its bringing me down. Hope i dont go over pts... eh.
Just glad i was able to get in my workout before all the stuff came flying at me, i might not have been in the mood to exercise either.
