I don't really know how to approach this anymore...but I know that it is time for a change. I have exactly 101 days until I will be in Spain. Spain = 90+ degree weather in July, therefore, I need to make some lifestyle changes so I can be comfortable in my own skin while I'm abroad. This is my main goal. My overall goal is to get healthy. I know I'm going to make mistakes along this journey, and I know I will probably want to give up every day. I don't have the best track record...but that doesn't mean that I can't do this. While I am typing this, my mind is fighting me. I am recalling all of my failed attempts, and there's still this little voice in my head telling me that I will never make it. It's time for me to be good to myself. I have started taking a daily multivitamin and taking 2 fish oil capsules at night. I am so uncomfortable in my clothes, which used to fit me loosely. I have gained close to 15 pounds since November/December 2009. I am trying to find the happy medium between holding myself accountable and beating myself up. I am too good at beating myself up, and it only hurts me in the end, and gives me a reason to give up. I have trouble not obsessing about food everyday. It consumes my thoughts daily. I worry about it, I crave it. I know this is going to be a lifelong battle for me, but I want so badly to feel good about myself, and most of all, be HEALTHY and HAPPY. I know this is tough, but I really think I can do this, especially since I've done it before. No silly diet gimmicks, just an overall goal to keep it below 2,000 calories a day...if I go past 1,550 I won't hate myself. I will keep truckin' along. Every day is a new day, and I need to be thankful for all that I have, because really, the only thing I'm missing in my life is my ideal weight and health. It's a big thing to not have, but I CAN get it back. I just need to convince myself that it's possible.

I can do this, and I'm going to!!!!

Thanks for the comment back Ali~ Zumba is great! I actually had never done it, but went to a class with a friend. I only go that one day a week, because I don't want to go alone. But, I am working on it! I need to get in shape and I definitely feel it after zumba. What other types of workouts do you like? emoticon

Hi there! I just saw your comments on my page and thought I'd answer back on your page. I wear a heart rate monitor during class, and that's how I figure out my calorie burn. I made a custom entry in my fitness tracker, then made that a favorite, so when I log my workouts I put minutes and calories burned. I madeone for Zumba and one for Zumba Toning. (I teach both). It's hard to say for sure what average burn for class is, because everyone is so different. If you can, invest in a heart rate monitor. There are so many models out there, and while the least expensive ones may not be the most accurate, I don't know that it matters all that much. It will give you a good ballpark number! Plus, it's a fun gadget to have.
