Alihikes getting fit and having fun

REALLY excited about Spark and my Spark teams. I'm in my early 60s and work long hours at a stressful job, so working out and eating healthy are challenges for me sometimes. I LOVE hiking, backpacking, cross country skiing, snow shoes, and kayaking. I want to get more fit to enjoy these activities with my friends, and to have more energy (and not burn out!) on my job.

My goals are to increase strength and fitness, lose weight, and have more energy.

A big goal for me is to stay positive and upbeat, and to not be negative toward myself or others.

My strategies for success are:
Exercise every day for at least 10 minutes
Exercise 200 minutes total per week
Drink 8 glasses of water daily
Eat 5 fruits and vegetables daily

Thankyou for the lovely blog comments, l really enjoyed the hike.
The weather is still cold and windy but the snow seems to be slowly disappearing. l won't be venturing out until the ice is all gone, l broke my kneecap last year and don't trust it. emoticon

Thanks for stopping by to comment on my blog with encouragement! Yes, I did exactly that -- in fact I was helped by Alaska Airlines, which offers a Mediterranean "meal" of nuts, olives, hummus, dried fruit, etc., most of which I saved for the hotel at my destination. I was happy to have those nuts to turn to instead of room service!

Thanks for commenting on my daily blogs. I think one of the issues with doing these 30 day small change challenges is we already incorporated the small changes that we are going to keep up and rejected the ones that we don't want to do. I am being lazy today and am skipping the blog. However I do have a start date for getting serious. It will be Feb 1st after I get back from my trip and have had a few days to unwind. Hopefully I will stay on track in February. Good luck on the mini challenge.
