Making friends with my body

I'm a fiber artist who spends too much time on my butt. I've decided to run a 5K on Thanksgiving morning. So far I'm training on an elliptical machine, but I'll be hitting the road when the weather cools down.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to become a runner and enjoy it. I have a lot of work ahead of me. I need to improve my cardiovascular fitness, strenthen my legs, psych myself up, gain enough self esteem to run in public, and lose weight to take stress off my joins.

My Program:
I track every bite I eat, down to the gram.
I drink more water than I ever have in my life. (11-15 glasses/day)
I use an elliptical machine for cardio at least 3 days a week X 30 minutes.
I augment my cardio with yoga DVDs and walking.


Personal Information:
I am from Montana, but we live where the Air Force tells us. (Currently Oklahoma)

Other Information:
I'm a fiber artist and I think I'm great at it. The only problem is that it doesn't burn calories.

I'm also trying to kick my pancreas's ass back into submission.

Hi, I saw that you are on the SFR team and just finished w1d1.
Congratulations to you!
I just made my 4th attempt and still can't finish it, but I am getting close.
Every time I try, I get better.
Do you take your dog jogging. I have a little dog that goes with me. She is really enjoying it and I know that she is getting in better shape, too.

I'm happy to hear I inspired you emoticon Let me tell you if I can run you can run because I swear I was the biggest procrastinator in the world but i'm so glad I stuck with that C25k plan because now all I want to do is run. emoticon keep me posted on your progress i'd love to hear from you.
