Update March 12, 2016
I have reached an all time high of 211 lbs and I feel absolutely horrible- mentally and physically. I NEVER ever thought I would be in the 200s wearing a size 16 in pants. 2016 is my year for change.... permanent change. I am excited about what this year is going to hold for me!

Update 10/3/12- I have been on SparkPeople for almost two years. I have lost weight, only to gain it back after I stopped doing everything that helped me to lose the weight. This time around, I am more determined than ever to actually reach my goal weight and keep it off for good.


Jan 2011- I have struggled with my weight for what seems like my entire life and I am ready for that struggle to end. I want to be healthy and fit. I want to be full of energy instead of exhausted all the time. I also want to be an inspiration to my daughter.

My starting weight with Sparkpeople was 164 lbs (I am 5'6). My highest weight has been 180 lbs. My lowest weight- 127 lbs. I want to be somewhere between 130-135 lbs. I guess I will see as I get closer to my goal.

My goals for 2012/2013

1) lose 20-25 lbs (I want to get back into my old jeans). I want to do it the healthy way, a way that inspires other women
2) find exercises/activities that I enjoy
3) learn Spanish. I started off strong but haven't been practicing lately.
4) get a promotion at work
5) establish a relationship with God
6) confront/deal with issues from my past

I have my work cut out for me, but I want this to be a productive year.

My goal is to weigh 135-140 pounds by practicing mindful eating, making healthier choices, eating the foods I love in moderation and committing to an exercise routine. I also hope to encourage my daughter to do the same.

    Hi and thanks for the friend add and comments on my blog. I've struggled with the ups and downs you've had and also with feeling overwhelmed by the idea that I'm going to have to stay vigilant about my weight for the rest of my life in order to avoid regain. The good news is that, although it isn't always easy, it can be done. It just might take many of us several rounds of losing and gaining before we find the things that really work for us to make our changes sustainable and permanent. Good luck with your journey and let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help you along.

    I would try turbo jam. That is what I did in the beginning. It has a 20 minute workout that is great to get you started. Then you can work up to the other DVDs.
