Hi Alesha, if Hank is fetching then the odds are that he will bring other things to you too. That's how it started with Callie I was doing some cleaning out from under a table. She saw me getting things from under and she went under and started bringing things out to me. Now when we ran out of things under the table, she went out on the porch where I was throwing stuff and started bringing it back in the house. LOL. You just pick something they like to do and turn, it into a game. You'll be surprized what they can do. My key word for Callie was " Bring It " Sounds like Hank is very smart , you will enjoy him and he will keep you in stiches laughing. My Honey I'm having to teach how to , but she is coming along pretty well. So far she has not showen any interest in fetching. I know what you mean about the smile, Honey looks like she is smiling too. I wish I could have captured the expression on her face the first time she saw a cow. I looked at her and said " You do know you are a cattle dog " and I sware she had a look like " Oh hell no, I don't do cows" I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. It was just too funny. I hope you don't mind me telling you about my dogs. Some of the things are just too funny.,and not everyone knows about these dogs and what they can do. If I can help you with your puppy, just let me know

Hi Alesha, what kind of cattle dog do you have? My Callie was the one with a small head and longer legs and weighed about 40 #. Honey came from show stock. She has the big head and neck, broad back and short stocky legs, and 45 #. She has gained about 9 # since I had her spayed. I'm going to have to watch her weight. I trained Callie as a service dog. If I needed or droped something, she would pick it up and give it to me. If I had something that she wanted, she would go get a bowl and put it in my lap. If she wanted a treat she would bring me the bag. One time I tried to give her one kind of treat and she went and got the Bonz off the table and put them in my lap. I don't think that Honey will do these things. She was never really been trained for much, she hasn't been petted or loved on and expected to come in and lay down or go to her kennel. The longer I have her, she might come around. She is such a lovable dog. emoticon emoticon
