Change is the greatest power in the world today.

SparkPeople helped me loose 19 pounds in 2013, and over a brief hiatus for the holidays I've managed to gain a couple back, but I will not be deterred, I am committed to loosing more in 2014.
I learned to love sweet potatoes last year, and have compiled several recipe favorites. In 2014 I hope to add more leafy greens to my diet, specifically kale, spinach, chard. Please let me know if you have a favorite recipe to share!

In addition to eating better and keeping active, 2014 will be the year I BEGIN to get a grip on my finances. It will take me many more years, but I'm taking the first step. 2014 is a great year to gain control, and I have the power!

My Goals:
In 2014 I want to lose 10 pounds, experiment in the kitchen with leafy greens (adding more spinach, kale, and chard to my diet)and eliminate $3000 of total debt by the end of the year.

My Program:
1) Find time for fitness 5 days a week
2) Make a new recipe at least once a week
3) Keep a running total of monthly credit card debt, and whittle down to 2 cards by 12/31
4) Participate in a 5K walk/run every month (posted here as I register)

Personal Information:
I live in a small community in SE MN, but like to travel when I can. I'm lucky to live so close to the Mississippi River; I find water so soothing! I also haven't met a craft I didn't like, but I'm most fond of rubber stamping.

Other Information:
I went back to school and finally got my accounting degree in 2010 at the age of 48. I have 3 wonderful children, 2 adorable granddaughters, and am married to the man of my dreams. I'm a lucky girl, destined to be a Cloverleaf!

Learning to have the attitude I have now is a challenge everyday, but I remember from the beginning of my relationship with my husband, he always said, "you deserve to be happy". He's right. The only way to do that is to stop thinking that everything is out to get me or that bad things always happen to bad people. I'm not a bad person. I just had a bad outlook on my life!
