strong is sexy!

I've been trying to shed the weight I gained in my first year of college for way too long. No more trying- it's actually happening this time! I used to feel so all-or-nothing about it- that as soon as I screwed up, I would start to give up. Now I'm learning to put it in perspective. If I slip up and eat too much, I didn't ruin everything, I just didn't lose that day. Tomorrow I can keep on going. The longer I stick with it, the more it feels like I can do it forever. After looking at some of the people on here who have stuck with their plans for YEARS and lost 50+ lbs, I am so humbled. I can get a measly 16 lb off my body in a few months, so what am I waiting for?!

More about my diet- it's always been pretty clean and healthy, but portions and cheese are my issues :) My weight has been stable for 5 years, but I gained about 15 lbs when I started college, and I never could get it off. I've never had a problem eating whole foods, I eat tons of veggies and salads, but I have to cut out refined carbs and sugar completely to lose weight. My weight-loss plan is low in carby foods, but we still need oatmeal, beans, fruit and sweet potatoes!

Hi! Welcome to the Look Better Naked team! Like you, I have only a little weight to lose, but I really want to get rid of the leftover fat. UGH. It hangs in my saddlebags and love handles.

Good luck, and visit the team often :)
