My Dream My Life

You may have to fight a battle more than once to achieve victory.

I'm 36 years old and am a mother of two; 17 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter. It's just the 3 of us so motivating myself can be very hard!! We also seem to be building an Ark!! I have 2 dogs (Walley-4, Penny-3) and 2 cats (Mr. T-10, Tuggs- baby).

I've gained a lot the last year or so, a lot due to emotional eating. I've had a huge amount of stress regarding my son and that led to me binge eating a lot. The last few months I've gained control back again and am taking it just one day at a time. To top it all off I just found out I have pre-diabetes so I'm trying to figure out what that means!

I've learned to let a lot stress just go and now I'm back on me. Here are some of my favorite quotes that have helped me in my (very) long journey to health!!

My Goals:
I need to lose about 42 lbs to reach my healthy weight. I want to be in good shape and be content with who I am, and what my body looks like.

I'm 5'10 my goal weight is 165 lbs.

Next Goal:
Pass the PT tests w/the new standards and max out my crunches and pushups. Get my waist down to 34 inches and do my 1.5 mil run under 15:30min.

My Program:
Still working on consistency. That's my biggest hurdle right now.


Personal Information:
I grew up in WA, was active duty Air Force and stationed at McChord AFB, WA, Grand Forks AFB, ND and Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. After going through my 2nd divorce I moved to AK to be closer to family and transferred to the Alaska Air National Guard, was in Alaska for 3.5 yrs and went back on active duty for an assignment where I'm at now, Andrews AFB, MD. So not only do I have my own pressure to lose the weight but also from the Air Force to lose the weight and pass my PT test. I love every day I get to put on my uniform and will be in the AF until they kick me out for being too old!!! So failure is NOT an option!!

I read your post "Frustrated". I'm not a runner, or a "fast" walker, because I have a bad knee, it takes me 51 minutes to walk 3 miles. Over the weekend I used my sister-in-law's treadmill for the first time, I was walking at my normal stride, and it said I was only going 2.5 miles an hour! So, maybe your treadmill is wrong. For me, using that treadmill felt much harder than being outside. So maybe, once you take a run in the real world, you might find that you're faster than you think, and that you enjoy it more. Good luck.

I read your frustrated post in the Done girls team. Would it help you to join one of the running teams on here? Like the couch to 5k? they have a detailed running schedule to build endurance and help you run better...
