Thinking Positive

I'm an active mother of two boys. I teach high school part time and enjoy participating in triathlons and running events. I
I've been working on losing weight off and on since 1996. I've done just about everything... low fat diet, south beach diet, Abs diet, extreme exercise, blah blah blah. It seems like nothing keeps it off permanently.
In the last several years, I've added triathlons to my training regiment. Right now, I complete mainly sprint triathlons in a pool, but ...

In the last several years, I've added triathlons to my training regiment. Right now, I complete mainly sprint triathlons in a pool, but next summer I'm hoping to do my first Olympic distance in open water.
For the last two years, I've also run Mt. Marathon, a 4 mile run that starts at sea level and goes up to 3022 feet. This run is extremely challenging for me, but the sense of accomplishment at the end of it is like no other.

My Goals:
Is it bad to say my goal is to have less flab hang over the top of my jeans when I bend over????

Seriously:
1. I want to make my body healthy for running and triathlons. A continuing hip injury has slowed me down but I'm determined not to let this get the better of me.

2. Swim a sub-11:00 500 meter swim. To help with this, I'm working with a swim coach and trying to get in the pool at least once or twice a week.

Thanks for the advice! What are bike shorts and where can I find them? I'm assuming you're not just talking about the spandex shorts things right? Are you talking about the ones with the padding?
