Hello! I am a 37 year old kindergarten teacher. I love my job, but during the school year I devote so much of my time to my work that I tend not to eat very well. Exercise is also nonexistent since I come home exhausted. It seems that every school year I put on about 5 lbs and then when summer rolls around and I have time to focus on me I take it right off. Last summer I never lost the weight, but I was still in my healthy weight range for my height (5'11) and I figured it was only 5 lbs! This year I knew I had gained more weight, but I tend to avoid the scale and winter clothes are forgiving. When school was out I finally weighed myself and was shocked to find that I had gained not 5, but 10 more lbs! I have never gained that much in one year. I am now considered to be slightly "overweight." I am so mad at myself because I now need to lose 15 pounds total. It is obvious that my weight will continue to go up unless I put a stop to this and make some changes. What worked for me a few years ago is no longer working (I hate getting older!) I am at sparks to get this weight off!

Walk 3 days a week with my coworkers

Do Aerobics 2 days a week.

Replace snacks with fruits and veggies

    Hey Amy,

    Now that school is back in session, I thought I'd offer some encouragement to you to stick with it this year. As a former educator I understand the constraints teaching puts you under. Good luck and keep up with the little ones.

    completely agree! Some day maybe my stomach will shrink and i'll be able to eat the recommended portion, today though that's asking way too much. So instead I eat what I eat and if I go over board on one meal I make up for it in the next. And if I can't do that... well then it's a little extra time on the spinner. There's nothing exercise can't fix ;)
