Getting Healthy

Guess it's time to update this...
For the past year and half I have strived to be "sugarfree"... I am insulin resistant so I have really tried to get healthier by treating my body better and not hurting it by what I eat. In that time period, I have lost a good bit of weight and am more at a plateau now, but I developed another health issue with either wheat or yeast... we are leaning more toward yeast, but I just try to stay away from foods/drinks that make me feel sick. I am not gluten intolerant or have celiacs...

I live in New England and LOVE it here... I have a wonderful boyfriend who is in the Army and stationed in GA. We are both trying to eat more healthy.

I love the outdoors- hiking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, swimming, walking, etc...

My Goals:
To add more activity back into my life after back injury kept me from doing anything from May 2007-March 2008. Also to take control of being insulin resistant and to take better care of the only body I've got to work with :-)

Pilates on a reformer 1hr wk.
Biking/walking/jogging 3xWk.
Wakeboarding 1-2x wk (in summer)
Snowboard 1-2x wk (in winter)

Personal Information:

Great Job on your 39 lbs loss!! WOOHOO!!!

Thanks so much for your reply on sugar intake. I'm still new to all of this , but with all the help I have received has made me understand it more. Getting the right amount of nutrients per day has been a challenge for me...but I'm working hard at it one day at a time. emoticon emoticon
