Life in Progress

Hello all!

I'm Akalei and a lot has changed since I last logged-in. The downside: I am up to about 350 pounds and have lost all the progress I did make. The upside: my life is better.

I have a new job now, as a floor manager for an independence local store. Its a much more supportive atmosphere, the owners genuinely care about their employees and whether or not they are healthy.

I am also off of the medication that caused my rapid weight gain and made it impossible for me to loose weight. Unfortunately I have been off of it for a couple of months and still haven't seen a change in my weight but I am hopeful that it will occur soon.

The best news of all is that I am finally happy and maybe that was the first step I needed to take in this journey all along.

Hang in there, I know how you feel. I am having knee replacement surgery tomorrow and haven't been able to walk very well for a time. As soon as I recover I hope to walk a couple miles a day and start losing again. emoticon

.´*.¸.•´♥ Welcome to Low Carb for Dummies!

On thing I would suggest is: Keep collecting Spark Friends like candy!! They are calorie free, Low Carb and they always give you something to "chew on"!!

You can just "friend" them...no need to ask. We are friendly and don't bite!

You can find motivation and inspiration from everyone here, even those that are struggling (because you know how they feel!!) Welcome new people, Join teams, blog, join challenges, blog, be excited, blog. And did I mention: blog? The future fabulous you will want to look back at your journey and will want to encourage others!! When the excitement wanes (it WILL!!) put down your pom poms and lurk in the background, (but don't leave and don't do too much damage) and wait for the tide to turn...pick up your oars and keep rowing.

You can do this!!

“Change takes time. It takes time for the seeds to begin growing within, time to understand the process, time for the growth to mature, and time for the old self to die and fall away.” -Bryant McGill

I hope you managed to get past your carb craving. If not just call it a day and move on from there. Make your next 2 days count in your favor. I once read such a lovely article about making a new history for ourselves by making day 1 a good choice day, then day 2 etc. By the time you get to day 10, you have written a new history for and about yrself.
