I started Sparking in March of 2007 or so, when I needed a food tracker. Once I approached my goal weight, I stopped logging food... and then I injured my foot and put all the weight back on, argh!

Fortunately, most of my good eating habits learned the first time around stayed with me; I only have to 'tweak' my eating habits a bit to get back on track. My big thing now is getting exercise each day, which is difficult, because I never found anyone who could FIX my darn foot! I'm still looking. None of the podiatrists I went to seem to be able to figure it out (even though I have; I need a doc who will listen, and understand that I have a very high pain threshhold).

My two main focuses here are:

1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle for food/exercise.
2. Get better organized. For that, I have FlyLady to thank (www.flylady.net)

A bit about me:

I'm a 30-something divorced female whose 'family' is two wonderful cats: a stray named Snickers, and my first pure-bred cat: a beautiful Maine Coon (still a kitten right now) named Peshtigo. If you recognize the name "Peshtigo", and I tell you he's a red tabby (red and gold, with gold eyes), you might know why I picked that name for him. If you don't recoginze the name "Peshtigo", and you are curious, try googling or wikipediaing it. ;)

I have a picture of my two babies playing together as the first photo to the left. No, I don't have a lot of pictures of me; I don't like having my picture taken, even when I'm healthy and such.

For fun stuff, I like Shaolin kung fu and Tai Chi (www.hingsingschool.com), reading, walking, flying airplanes (although it seems the price of everything has gone up, so I haven't been), playing World of Warcraft and other computer games, and voluteering. My latest volunteer efforts landed me as Secretary of my Condo Association Board of Directors.

Geez, with all these hobbies, you would think I'd be thinner! But it's no wonder my home is a mess! :P

My Goals:
1. Drop the extra weight I gained from foot injury. To do this: exercise at least a few mins each day, and remember to eat some fruits/veggies each day!

2. Get my home cleaned up to where it was before mom's health issues interrupted my life. To do this: FlyLady rocks! Keep my sink shiny, and 15 mins of decluttering each day.

My Program:
1. Exercise each day.

2. Drink more water.

3. Eat more fruits and veggies.

4. Check 1/month or so and see if that 'spare tire' is still hanging around my middle...

Your comments on my sparkpage regarding "the least of these" is spot-on. Thanks for coming by, and even for appreciating one of my cats as pictured in my avatar. We have two cats which are legally my wife's service-animals. We'd never heard that, but actually it's true. Cats are considered to be great for handicapped and infirmed folks, enough for them to be "servicers". So you don't have to be blind, or such.

Thinking of your comments... it is often the "little things" that take me off of my firm footing and send me into frustration, confusion, angst, anger and more. Those little things are like our emotional and mental "paper cuts".

Thanks again for dropping by. Hope to see you 'round.

emoticon comment on the LTEE article. The article convinced me that I need to form the habit of DAILY exercise but that seems too daunting. However, I can do anything for ten minutes a day and like a sprout in a sidewalk, that could be enough to crack my routine of slugdom.

    Thanks! emoticon

First off, love the picture of the kitty! Thank you so much for the kind words, your comment really spoke to me. It takes such great strength and determination to lose 100 pounds, and that just shows how strong you are and that you can battle this again. Sorry to hear about your injury. When our routine is disrupted it makes everything hard. My arthritis has been flaring up and I can't do my fave exercise (walking) like I want to, and I have let that derail me. But we can push through and we will get there. Hang in there. emoticon
