REFOCUS: Necessity for a Lifestyle Change

Recently I've learned that my body doesn't respond well to bread, rice, etc. I don't digest starches well. This has caused a lot of discomfort, sometimes pain. My doctor told me to stay away from bread and rice...basically anything with flour. He said "it's a lifestyle change"!!

Lifestyle change - two words that people are afraid of. It's not easy to let go of foods we love. I find it funny that it's always them that we have to let go of or wean ourselves off of. I love ...

Lifestyle change - two words that people are afraid of. It's not easy to let go of foods we love. I find it funny that it's always them that we have to let go of or wean ourselves off of. I love bread, I love certain pastries made from flour. I love rice and potatoes. It was hard at first to imagine life without bread and rice, etc., but it was not nearly as hard as I thought it might be.

I am a firm believer that adopting a healthy lifestyle can help you feel better from the inside out, and help you feel better in other areas of your life. One of my goals is to commit to doing what I need to do to enhance and improve my health (and try to do some exercising) :)

I have family and friends who love me and encourage me to live a healthy lifestyle - physically, spiritually, mentally, and socially. This is such a blessing to me.

May we all accomplish our goals to live healthy!

Sorry that I am just responding, I was away on business! Welcome back to SP and I am happy that you are getting back into the swing of things. I have tried to eat healthy but unfortunately this year was horrible for me. But I refuse to let the devil win. I am starting over and hope that we can be friends and watch each others progress. I have a lot more to lose, so I will be here for a while. But other than that, how are you? And I would like to say, what a beautiful family you have.

¸.•♥´ .•´¨¨ ¸´¸.•´¨Welcome to the EE team!!
I’ve belonged to a lot of teams here on spark-- i really do believe that the Emotional Eaters team is one of the very best, it’s a great group of people- very supportive and encouraging-- and it is very refreshing to talk with people who "get" what you're going through!! ¸¸.•¨¸♥¨`*,¸.•*´¨`*• .¸♥.*¸.•´¸.•*¨¸.•*¨¸.•´¸.•*¨) ¸.•*¨)
Check out the main page of the EE team- there are “stickied” topics you may be interested in to get involved- a buddy thread, a place to introduce yourself, weigh-in challenge, a birthday post. ¸.•*¨¸.•´¸.•*¨(¸.•´ (¸.•´ (¸.•´¸¸.•¨¸♥¨`*,¸.•*´¨`*• .¸♥. ¸.•♥´ .•´¨¨ ¸´¸.•´¸.•*¨)¸¸.•´ ..•-~'¸.•*¨)
Spark has a lot of great tools, and you will learn which ones work best for you. The best tools are the people tho, always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder. I’ve been here for over a year now, and I still am overwhelmed, every day, by the kindness and goodness of others on this team!! That has made a world of difference for me. I hope you have the same success! ¸¸.•¨¸♥¨`*,¸.•*´¨`*• .¸♥.*.•*¨¸.•´¸.•*
