Doing it RIGHT in 2011!

Health and fitness have always been a part of my life. I have always been fit and active. Last year (2010) I was sidelined by 3 major sports injuries between June and December. For the first time in my life I have found myself unhappy with my body. Being unable to participate in my running and at some points unable to work out had a major impact on how I felt. I didn't realize how important running and working out were in my life until I couldn't do them!!

I am hoping 2011 will ...

I didn't realize how important running and working out were in my life until I couldn't do them!!

I am hoping 2011 will be a better year for my body. I am intent on taking it easier and easing slowly back into all my activities. I am going to incorporate yoga and swimming into my routine.

This year my goals are:

1. Be kind to myself and to my body.
2. Work out consistently.
3. Eat healthfully and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. It's all about balance.
4. Learn to relax a little :)
5. Record what I eat and when I exercise on SP so I stay consistent...
6. Focus on how I FEEL and not on what the scale says.
7. Strengthen my existing friendships and forge new ones.
8. Volunteer.
9. Join a recreational sports team or some other group in May.
10. Do yoga once a week.

My Goals:
1. Do more outdoor activities e.g. hiking, cycling, walking, etc.

2. Start indoor climbing again.

3. Look great for my besty's wedding in the Dominican - April 20, 2011.


My Program:
- various group classes like boot camp, spinning, and kickboxing
- cardio at the gym or on the road (cycling) 1-3 days a week
- 5/6 small, clean meals a day
- lots of water
- limit starches and alcohol consumption

Great job on the fitness minutes. I know what you mean when you say you miss being physical! Exercise really is a drug and the best one there is! Have you tried cycling? If running is too much getting on a bike might be another alternative. Keep up the good work!
